The place was great. Good food, good wine not overpriced and super friendly staff. The manger was present, involved and motivating. To top all that there was live singing with a great act covering Frank Sinatra to George Michael. What a blast. I would highly recommend the Minnow
Visited The Minnow today for lunch, the refurbishment is complete and it looks fantastic ! We were made very welcome by the team, who did not rush us as we wanted a relaxed long lunch. The food was excellent. Particularly enjoyed the scallops, great selection of main courses and love that you can finish off with a ‘mini pud’ perfect if you are fairly full but want to end on a sweet note.
Had a Sunday roast there. The service was fast and efficient. Food was great, although could have done with a bit more veggies on the plate. Great selection of wines!
Come here every 3 months or so and the staff are always lovely. At the time they were hosting a group of about 20 mums with a photographer and yet they catered for myself and my friend really well. They were lovely, service was great and we got a lovely area of the restaurant too. I booked in advance but I think you could have walked in as it was a Thursday afternoon.
Lovely staff and it was really good of the publican to squeeze us in on a busy day, thank you! All the staff were very friendly and clearly working really hard on a packed Sunday, it's not easy. We received our starters promptly and they were delicious. There was a bit of a wait then for the mains which we had to chase up but when they arrived they were great and we received complimentary half pints as an apology which was a nice touch. The crackling tasted burned on my roast which was a shame but I loved everything else it was delicious and my husband's fish was cooked beautifully. All in all a good visit for a tasty lunch and we left smiling and full. Thanks to the staff for making us so welcome and we'll be back I'm sure. I highly recommend.
A superb steak! We ahd a discount voucher for food, which perhaps added to the pleasure of this meal! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed this pub. Warm atmosphere with low wooden beams and fires. Perfect place to visit on a cold day. The roast was delicious. Some of the food was on the slightly cooler side, but we asked for extra gravy which warmed it up. We arrived 2hours early, and they were very accommodating, even though they were very busy at that time.
Nice location and atmosphere. Prices ok, decent food choices, but our Sunday roast could have been warmer. Friendly service.
roast was not bad but disappointed that The crackling was burnt. However the chocolate bomb was amazing and highlight of the meal. A few mix ups on the drinks orders but this was resolved
I’ve been to the Minnow quite a few times now and have always received great service. It’s nice to find a local pub/restaurant that genuinely cares about delivering good customer service. The food is amazing and they have a large selection of drinks. Carly has looked after us on a number of ocassions and is always very kind and accommodating! The bar staff are quick and acknowledge that they know you’re waiting even when they’re really busy. I’d highly recommend The Minnow for dinner or just a casual drink…
