Absolutely rank, £40 order straight in the bin, i keep giving this chippy another chance as at one time i got a really nice order, but since then its gone down hill, rotten spuds, prawns had turned off, cardboard donner meat, gravy like tar, by all means try this place but please know its a risk on weather or not your food is edible, you've got a 1 in 10 chance of it being edible. Any good reviews this place has are from the previous owners, the current owners dont have a clue, the fry cook is young and has no experience or qualifications. Up to you weather or not you want to risk wasting your money. Updated 17th November 2025 Decided to see if anything has changed, nope, donner meat black and hard again, barm stale, chips cold, the only they manage to get ok is the basic chippy item, chips peas chips gravy & pies, the people that run this place are NOT Cooks or chefs or fry Cooks, just a family playing at running a chippy, AVOID AT ALL COST, even staff have left due to not being able to serve the crap to their customers and look them in the eye the next day.

Possibly the worst chippy I've ever been. If you like extremely salty gravy and mushy soggy chips and a pie that's like a rock hard brick and all dried out that even a drenching of mushy peas couldn't soften then this is the chippy for you. Safe to say we won't be returning.

me and india smith got food she forced me to do this but it was vile not worth the price which was very expensive u should be appalled. hair in my food and frozen l popcorn chicken which could be bought from any shop for quarter the price, also had 0 salt and pepper flavour, vile. don’t waste ur money or time with this place just go to mikes. chips are also drowning in grease they make the food look presentable but taste is nothing comareprd to how it looks. not up to standard could make it better myself for half the price. don’t visit!

This is my local Chippy, always a go to! Very tasty food would highly recommend. Ken is a great fry cook.

I have switched allegiances from the Rainford Supper bar to here. It shuts too early, but it does fish and spam fritters and the lady serving is lovely. My fishcake had been sitting a but too long and was hard and burnt but otherwise it was a treat. Could do with marrowfat mushy peas too!

Need a second mortgage to pay for a meal here, 6.90 for a sausage dinner you must be joking! Shame as the food is usually nice.

It's always a great place to visit, especially on a Friday and Saturday night. Staff are the best friendliest people you could meet

Absolutely amazing. When we first found this place. And had a fish dinner. It looked like slop in a tray. But what slop. Generous portions of peas and curry. Pour over home cooked chips. With a lightly battered cooked to perfection fish.
