We have been going to this restaurant for takeaways for a few years now. We have always found the food very good. Collection times are quick and prompt. The food is excellent value for money . Poppadoms and Pickles so good !
What happened to this place? We've been using Mumbai Square for the odd takeaway for the last few years and never had issues. We used to laugh at how quickly food would get to our door. And it was always good quality. However, the last 2 occasions have not been up to the usual standard. Tonights meal arrived 1 hour and 35 minutes after it was ordered. No answer on the phone when we tried to contact them many times. Hardly any chicken in the biryani dish, onion bhajis falling apart, and no idea where the pool of water at the bottom of my bowl came from as I only had the biryani and vegetable curry. Even the poppadoms were very salty. Such a shame this place has gone downhill after many years of being so good. Now on the hunt for a new alternative.
Terrible experience. Went for a meal with my wife and son ( who uses this restaurant as a takeaway 2 or 3 times a week) The staff didn't even acknowledge my son and we had to prompt the waiters for every part of the service despite there only being 3 other tables in the restaurant. The meal of poppadoms and a main meal took over an hour and a half to complete and was average at best. My son and I ordered a large soft drink each costing £3.95 which was poured out of large plastic bottles and was flat and clearly old. My suggestion is to avoid at all cost In th

Food delivery is shocking, multiple items always missing, don’t offer a refund and don’t take responsibility for the mistake as the food is ordered through a third party website not directly with the restaurant . I Tried to sort this issue with a member of staff (Ally) on the phone but he was very rude and actually started threatening me telling me he knows where I live when I told him I will personally bring the food back to the restaurant for my refund. Would not advise anybody to order or eat at this foul place.
Ordered a take away to collect. When I collected and paid for it, I was given an incomplete order. This I only discovered once at home. I called them and they acknowledged that I was mistakenly only given one bag instead of two and promised to deliver the rest of my order. This they did, but it was still incomplete. I tried calling them again, but after trying for more than 30 minutes get through, I went to the restaurant to find out what went wrong again. I was given the rest of my order with no apology or explanation. The manager wasn’t interested in explaining to me what went wrong. This is totally unacceptable - I would have been happy with an apology, but now will never support them again.
Absolute disgrace! I ordered for a delivery which i was told would take 45 minutes. I received an email saying it would be delayed and arrive 1 hour 15 mins after i ordered and i accepted that. The order still had not arrived 2 hours later and no one was answering the phone after calling 20 times. I went down to the restaurant and demanded my food and a refund. The options i were given was for them to cancel my order or to be given my food with £5 off! I refused and demanded a full refund for waiting 2 hours for delivery after not being told and then having to collect myself. I was told that was unreasonable and was not allowed both, customers in the restaurant fully agreed with me as well as another person who had the same problem. I was told to leave after not arguing or raising my voice at all. After a while i agreed to take my food and accept the £5 off, and the manager had already cancelled my order without telling me! I still wanted my food so i payed again with the money off. I got home and i was missing items from my bag. This is the worst experience i’ve had and the poorest customer service ever, i highly recommend not ordering delivery from here or hoping your order isn’t wrong as they will do nothing to accommodate you.
Mumbai Square - Wednesday 9th November - 19:30 Entrance has a small step and the external and interior door are manual. Wednesday is banquet night so you get a starter, main and side dish for £15.95 but some dishes in the menu come with an additional cost; not all of us opted for the banquet special but I would definitely recommend it. Poppadom were brought out, nice, warm and fresh. Two of the guests had starters but at 20:50 we still didn’t have the main. I asked the waiter were the food was and he commented that persons had starters and the mains would be brought out when they finished “that’s how we do it here”. I do think they should read the room better as we had finished the starters and were waiting for the mains; if I hadn’t asked I think we would have still been waiting. Plates were hot as was the food. Food was plentiful and was very nice. I have been here before and would come again; overall a nice experience.
I've had many curries across London and this is hands down my favourite spot. The food is super tasty, unpretentious, and comes in generous portions. The staff are so lovely and friendly and it's just a massive pleasure to eat here every time. Highly recommended.
