It was our yearly girls Xmas night out, which we were really looking forward to it. We had booked bottomless brunch option. On arrival we had been met by a waiter who had no idea about our booking, taking into consideration restaurant was empty. He took us straight downstairs presuming we were part of a private party, despite we were the only customers there, so for a professional person should not be a difficult task to allocate us to the correct booking. After 5 min of trying to establish who we were and telling us a story about the broken floor in the toilet, finally we ended up upstairs. He offered us a glass of prosecco on arrival which we agreed to,presuming it is part of the bottomless brunch deal of £35. We were never approached by a waiter to take our drinks orders other than this prosecco during our bottomless lunch experience. We had been left to reach out for more drinks and for food platter which suppose to come with the deal anyway. We were sitting there for an hour with a bottle of prosecco which the waiter had made it look like we were having a fantastic deal. Our food arrived after an hour waiting burned, looked like charcoals and not very presentable at all. Taking into consideration they only had two tables in the restaurant at the time . At the end of our meal we have requested a bill. When the bill arrived we were charged £105 for bottomless brunch for three, we only had a food platter and additionally we were charged £40 for prosecco and service charge 10%. He never told us that prosecco is not part of the deal and we had never been approached by anyone to take our alternative drink order. This is the only option we were given. Overall the food was awful, the service was nonexistent , the waiter was trying to rip us off and the whole experience was a disaster. You should not advertise yourself as a business if you deliver such a poor service. You spoiled our Xmas meal and we will never be back to your establishment again. The smell was disgusting, serous problems with drainage. Avoid at all costs. Don't believe what you see on the menu.

We are a party of eight who spent the evening celebrating our friends 60th birthday. Could not fault anything. The most delicious food, all served freshly prepared and good and hot. We were thoroughly looked after by Cristi and all the staff, never made to wait but not rushed either. It was plain that they really cared about giving us excellent service all evening. Many thanks and congratulations to them.

Poor service , asked what I would like to drink I looked at the bar and noticed they had draft pumps and asked for a pint of draft lager and told we don’t have draft beer so told only bottles then chose peroni and the waiter returned with an open bottle of estralla which I am not keen on but felt a little forced to accept it. The food was poor ,my wife dislikes steak if pink so asked for well done and got medium rare so struggled to eat and we were over charged for sauces even though it was included in the set price. When it came to leaving they lost our coats and eventually located them . Overall it wasn’t enjoyable and a poor experience

After meeting Cristian in the town after a long lunch out, where he assisted me with my mobility scooter, we called in on chance. A great welcome on a busy night, we had a couple of small plates, a special & a couple of the regular mains. Good flavours all round and washed down with an excellent drop of Romanian Pinot. All round a good night out, but made memorable by the great service from Cristian & his team. First time in; absolutely not the last!

This was the second visit to The Yard for my husband and I, having truly enjoyed the first. We invited a couple of friends to have dinner with us so we could catch up, having not seen each other for over 20 years. At the time of booking, I had requested a relatively quiet table so that we could chat comfortably. When Aimee, the delightful General Manager, greeted us on arrival, we were impressed that she had considered my request and seated us in a pleasant, quiet booth. It was a superb evening again! The service, food and ambiance were all excellent. You can sense that the team at The Yard are all passionate about offering a great dining experience. Of course, it was a real treat to try more of Carl the Head Chef’s dishes, especially when we explained to our friends that he had worked with Gordon Ramsay in his 2 Michelin Star restaurant. Furthermore, there is nothing pretentious about The Yard. It’s great food at great prices!

What a fantastic dining experience. We had dinner here and what a great place to eat. A fantastic menu which has something for everyone. The quality of the food is exceptional as is the chef that prepared it. This is one of the best dining experiences I've had for a very long time. Such friendly staff. I would highly recommend The Yard and we will certainly be coming back next time we are in Chester.

Wow wow wow. I went to The Yard this evening for a solo meal. The atmosphere and food were immaculate. Alessandra was the best host and made me feel so welcome. To say it was only her second day working at the restaurant, she really did set the tone for a beautiful evening. The menu changes every two weeks, which is a wonderful touch, meaning all the food is seasonal and fresh. Every bite was stunning. I will definitely be returning!

5 star experience! Nice decor, relaxed atmosphere and chilled music. Quite intimate but still open. Waiting staff were very good, left alone for long enough that you were not rushed but available every time we needed them and very attentive. Food was fantastic. Really nice mixes, my pork belly was a brilliant combination of elements, even loved the black pudding I never eat! On the slightly expensive side (£100 for 3 courses and 2 glasses of wine each) but worth every penny. Plenty decent restaurants in Chester but this was a little bit special and will definitely be back.
