Fantastic restaurant — never once disappointed. We’ve just had another amazing lunch, and it reminded me that we’ve been coming here for years. The food is always consistently delicious, the service is warm, and the whole experience feels reliable and special every time. I just felt inspired to finally leave this honest review because they truly deserve it. I’m so grateful they’re still in business — places like this are rare. Highly recommend.

Our son got food poisoning and was sick, suspected from the glazed ribs that were brought out far too quickly so likely undercooked, together with quite a lot of flies in the restaurant. Honestly we had looked forward to this for ages but it was so disappointing, extremely rushed service, overall food quality poor and prices eye wateringly expensive, egg fried rice for £9.80 and a sizzling lamb dish was £27…. I was born in Hong Kong so I am slightly bias but this is supposed to be a cut above the standard takeaways and it really isn’t, sorry won’t be going again!

Ordered a delivery, with what would should of been reasonable and not overpriced basic dishes. This came to over £100 ! After a day at hospital was needing a quick solution. So a rare take out was our option. The flavors were basic , the quality was greesy, and the price was outrageous! For this price I would expect nothing other than amazing. The ribs were inedible. Extremely disappointed.

The good Earth is the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the chicken satay and chicken and chive dumplings for starters, char siu pork and kaarage chicken for main and a coffee and crème brûlée for dessert. The service is very friendly and the staff are very attentive. Would recommend for anyone to check out!

For an extremely small portion and the money charged, I think it’s way over priced and it’s definitely a once and for all for me. Wasabi prawns were over fried. The duck was not juicy at all. Service was very good and attentive. Place is very clean too.

Have been going to this restaurant for nearly 40 years , initially with my parents and later on with my own kids , it was always a family favorite. We used to make a point of going there for the first lunch out every year . Now we are living in Spain and this the our the trip back to the uk since covidand we made a point of booking a table in the esher branch . It was a huge disappointment, no idea what happened but the food was awful . The Singapore rice noodles the worst I have ever had , the sesame prawn toast nothing like it used to be , the salt and pepper squid ( had no pepper at all , it was just fried squid !), the monkfish dish was just oily . The crispy duck arrived without the crispy skin no idea why they removed the best part ,very sad that it might be the last time that we ever go .

The food in general was OK but poor considering the prices charged. Starters were OK, although the pastry wrapped prawns just tasted of the oil they’d been deep fried in. The mains were bland and very over priced for the quality. Service was attentive but no one at any point asked us if everything was ok with our meal - this is an interesting observation since some of the dishes were barely touched. We were treating ourselves to a special dinner out but left very disappointed. We will never dine here again

Friendly and prompt service, food now aligned to a European/Hong Kong style with slightly sweeter dishes with thickened sauces. Not our favourite style but they were cooked well with good fresh ingredients and tasty. Towards the pricey side for quantity as were the cocktails which were very mediocre. Rating 4 forever for good service, fresh ingredients and tasty yet slightly expensive dishes.

We are done with them! After calling when they opened for a delivery (ie. core area of their entire business offering) on a Saturday evening 6pm. We are casually informed they “ aren’t doing delivery tonight”. No reason. No explanation. No apology. This has happened before. Their website online booking: has NEVER worked. They are BEYOND overpriced. They are arrogant. They aren’t as good as they used to be. You can’t rely on them. As other reviews say Esher offers a different menu than other branches. We also love the aubergine starter they won’t do here. Good earth- we are done! Goodbye.

As a Chinese who grown up in China and have been living in the UK for many years, I wouldn’t say this place has very authentic Chinese food, but it doesn’t stop it being an excellent restaurant. The food was really nice and the staffs are very friendly. They have reinvented the Chinese dishes to fit the British taste, but it’s still nice and kept the inspiration of Chinese food.
