   We visited around 9:45 pm on the 26th of November. I hadn’t booked a table, so I called ahead to check availability—and they welcomed us warmly. We were even able to park right in front of the restaurant, as the other shops were already closed. The food was really delicious, and the service was excellent. They offered us complimentary spicy gravy and papadam, which was a lovely touch. We ordered the special biriyani; it wasn’t very spicy and was prepared in a more English style, but since we’re Asian and prefer stronger flavours, they kindly provided extra spicy gravy. A special mention goes to Abdul and Miah—they were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be returning. If anyone is visiting Cheshire Oaks for shopping and is looking for tasty, spicy Asian food afterwards, Essence of Spice is the ideal place to go.

   I have ordered from here for years and always had lovely food, but tonight something has changed food arrived when it said it would but food was not good. Onion bhaji was overcooked very dry and black on edges. Rice was stook together in a clump. Butterchicken had no taste at all. Keema nann had no meat or should I say a very small slither. I have to say this was a complete waste of best part of £30 definitely not the usual standard.

   Usually have Chinese takeaway from August 8 but thought we'd have a change .Main meal. ... Hardly any meat....tiniest takeaway seen in ages. Bland starter ... lots of chicken but no taste.... had to add lemon, chilli etc. Then main meal only had 6 pieces of meat ....usually get double that in other takeaways. Great getting 10% off ...but not worth it when meals so small .

   In my opinion the best curry in the Port. I've been there couple of times and each time the food and the service was great. Waiters were always helpful, would explain what's on the menu so it's easier to make a choice. The owner is always on the ball making sure the customers are happy with the service. Recommended.
