Cheap food at extortionate prices. Cheap frozen fries disguised as chips! Toffee pudding is alike to the £1 low quality rubbish u get from Asda. Enough said… cannot recommend and never coming back…
Slow and mindless service, quiet but they still can't keep up. No atmosphere and really bad seating arrangement esp2cially for solo visitor. 15 minutes after ordering my first and only drink I was told the pub was closing and I would have to drink the rest of my beer in the hotel lobby. Brilliant. Won't be back.
Manager she was being unnecessarily difficult even though I've been a member for years, she's not friendly and doesn't smile and wouldn't go out your way to help. But rest of staff usually cool and fine and food usually good.
We came here to watch the football at 4.30pm on 21/09/25. We made a booking by phone a few hours prior. The booking is made by a central Village Hotels line rather than the restaurant itself. I received a confirmation email with a code. When we arrived the place was very busy and the atmosphere was great. We were waiting to be greeted by somebody at the front but no one arrive for a couple mins. When someone eventually turned up I let them know we had a booking. She directed us to the manager who said to her “we’re fully booked”. I told him we had a booking and he checked his records and said he couldn’t find us. I showed him the confirmation email and he said, “This has nothing to do with me.” I was very frustrated at this point and said that this was a legitimate booking (which he admitted) and said that he had to make space for us. He then explained that the booking was made centrally despite the restaurant being fully booked (pointing to an internal failure) and said he can’t accept us since “everyone with a booking can just turn up”. I demanded that he make space for us immediately. He initially gave us a table with a poor view of the screen, despite the fact that we specifically requested that we have a table with a good view when making the booking. Only after I complained again and pointed to a table we specifically wanted were we able to be seated there. I don’t think he intentionally tried to be rude, but he was unbelievably incompetent and unprofessional. There was also clearly an internal failure that allowed the restaurant to be booked beyond capacity. This is probably because you can’t even contact the restaurant directly. It’s a shame as the restaurant seems great, but they need to get rid of the manager and improve their booking procedure.
We had an overall nice time here in between appointments at a nearby clinic. Chicken wings: 5/5 (we really enjoyed these,) Beef burger: 4/5 (good taste & texture) Fries: 3/5 (slightly small portions) Sticky toffee pudding & ice cream: 2/5 (pudding was luke warm and fairly small) The staff member servicing us was extremely helpful and friendly.
Good quick meal after the gym. Pricey but 25% off for gym members. Big screens and ample seatings for game days. Friendly staff.
It's the pub underneath the hotel, so it works also as a little restaurant. Good sports pub, good beers and food not too bad.
For pub type food this was excellent. Friendly staff, served efficiently (bar coffee at the end). Four of us, drinks, mains and puddings £75 after 25% gym discount - great value. Good car parking as well. Loved the big screens and table football to keep our grandson occupied. Think my wife’s comment on the way home summed it up ‘would go there again!’.
Very nice hotel restaurant that offers daily food specials at very reasonable prices. Food items range from standard bar food to very healthy and tasty dish and vegetable entrees. You must place your order and pay at the bar, the isn't table service.
