I recently visited this Korean restaurant in New Malden and had a great experience. The food is authentic and full of flavour, giving a real taste of Korea. Prices are reasonable and the service is attentive and friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The only point for improvement would be the portion sizes — if they were a little bigger, it would be perfect. Overall, recommended for anyone looking for genuine Korean cuisine.

My family has been eating at Haru ever since we moved to London about 10 years ago, and it’s still our go-to Korean restaurant. The Yukgaejang and other dishes are always delicious—warm, homey, and wonderfully comforting. The service is excellent, with the staff and even the chef remembering our food preferences, which makes every visit feel extra special

Food: We ordered the chicken upon, seafood upon, beef rice, eel rice, fried chicken, kimchi omelette and seafood omelette. The taste was good, but the all the rice and noodle dishes seem to be quite similar in taste as they all have onions, beansprouts and carrots and sweet soya sauce with little variation in taste. The fried chicken was tasty, but the kimchi omelette could be improved to present the egg in a more prominent way. Service: Food and drinks were served quickly, so that was appreciated. However, the waitresses didn't seem to wish to engage with customers. They didn't ask us if we need any more food or drinks, when we asked the waitress to help us take a photo, she refused as she said she was busy, but didn't wish to help us when she wasn't serving. We felt that the waitresses would benefit from having some customer service training. Atmosphere: It's a small cafe with a nice cosy atmosphere. The decor is simple and calm. Facilities: One important point to note is that the toilet, which is unisex, is located outside of the cafe building via a narrow corridor behind some screens. It would not he suitable for wheelchair users. We appreciated that perhaps due to the age of the building, it may be difficult to reconfigure the layout to improve inclusive design.

Small hole in the wall. Very unassuming at first. But the space inside is lovely. I was eating on my own and they have seats on the side facing the wall which is surprisingly comfortable because you don’t get conscious about other people. The side dishes were nice. The pancake was crispy but maybe just a bit too much salt on the pancake dip for my taste. I was not expecting that the korean fried chicken were like tenders because I thought they were chicken on bone but the flavour was otherwise tasty. The tofu and seafood spicy soup was nice. I mean I have eaten better but theirs is also good. Overall a great korean restaurant!

The food at Ha Ru was really delicious. Whilst the restaurant has an unsuspecting demeanor the food served here feels homemade and really hit the spot. I enjoyed the pajeon, it was crispy and light without being greasy. This is my favourite style of pajeon so I thoroughly enjoyed it. The fillings within the pajeon were substantial. The bibim myeon was great, the sauce had a good balance of spicy, sweet and savoury. The noodles had a good bite and texture. I don't think they were handmade but they were tasty. Service was kind and friendly. I'd definitely visit again!

Food - the food was decent, tasty but nothing too special. Pajeon and Dakgangjeong were arguably the highlights of the food. Limited Banchan given, I’ve been to places that provided more for less but still tasty overall. Service - friendly server and polite, we went on a quiet Wednesday so the lady was alone. Atmosphere - quiet and intimate eating experience. There is a section in the back where people were sitting on the floor with floor level tables.

Good food! I recommend the seating area in the back. Friendly waiter and was able to make all the dishes I wanted vegetarian! Thanks!
