Worst chips I have ever tasted in my entire life, so dry, ended up in the bin. Have been going this Chip Shop since the mid 1980s when it was The Golden Sunrise and then became Hungary's, Chips used to be so nice, never again!!
Used chippy at night and during the day for last 2.5 years. Chips during day can be rank and luke warm. Food not as good as when we first started to use this chippy. Sometimes chips looked like they are last nights warmed up. Good choice of food but I now only use it if I’m passing on the way home.
Called in here fri night 5 dec. shop was very quiet. Ordered and paid for one portion of fish and chips. We were still waiting nearly 30 mins later while the staff shovelled heaps of chips into bags for delivery. After waiting for ages a staff member asked what we wanted and then finally served us our order. The food was not hot at all .. warm at best and not very appetising at all. I would have thought that having called in person we wouldn’t have had to wait so long. Looking at the poor reviews on here I’ll be going elsewhere from now on
Very disappointing, ordered 2 chicken royal meals with portion breaded mushrooms for delivery. Delivery took 40 mins eventhough I live 5 minutes away. Chicken burgers unedible tough and stringy - overcooked/ or cooked from fozen absolutely awful. Chips were warm up like cardboard (No I don't have covid- neg test yesterday!) Breaded mushrooms were very watery inside as if frozen when fried. Very disappointed normally fairly decent but major let down on this occasion.
APPALLING- phoned in order for collection. Shop run by local youth centre kids with no customer service what so ever. Took my food home only to find they got it completely wrong. I called them to tell them and they actually argued with me to say I'd gorgeous it wrong. They said they would send a driver to replace my order. I waited an hour but nothing came. When I called them back again they said they had called with the delivery but there was nobody in. I ended having to go back and get my. Order. Absolute disgraceful. Asked to see the Manager only to be told he wasn't around. The food was tasteless and cold - do not waste your money - the chips were not even freshly fried they were like bullets. I would not recommend them ever.
£3 for a chip batch with hardly any chips, complete rip off. Staff are more bothered about discussing their plastic surgery than serving customers. Joke of a shop
I'm leaving this review on the Bromborough store as this is where it all started many many years ago. To the Manager of the store, I believe you really need to pay attention to the 1 star reviews that are being left here. We have ordered many times from you and always been happy with the food. Great takeaway quality, and our experience of your food has remained the same. We haven't ordered from you tonight because your prices and mark ups are a complete mess, and there is noteable variation between your store and the Eastham one !? It appears you have just increased prices by a random percentage amount, not consistent with the cost of living issues we're facing, and that now equal restaurant prices. You are a takeaway. Prices vary between stores, and are very noticeable and if you try and order from Just Eat the prices are even up to about £1 extra when compared to your prices directly on your website?? Sort it out Hungrys, because you have put off a very loyal customer. It will not take long for your reputation to deteriorate quickly. Edit 06.01.23 A second attempt was made to order tonight with family. Lovely food as usual. 'Restaurant discount' applied to Just Eat order. Food delivered quickly for a Friday evening. Well done guys. Star rating increased to 4*
Dreadful service and food to match. Having rang to order a banquet, the lady had no idea what she was doing. Having rang twice, I went in to order the banquet with a side of noodles. When getting back home, there were no noodles. I rang and was told the banquet doesn't come with sides. I said, I know this I ordered them separately. I had to go back to the shop to pick them up and was charged again for the noodles. Utterly hopeless staff. By the time I got back to eat, food was going cold but the beef in black bean sauce was inedible and extremely salty. Always used to be a brilliant takeaway this but seems there's some changes and gone massively downhill
In terms of the food I have always enjoyed this place, however after this evening I will not be returning again. Following a disagreement between a member of staff and the owner, the girl on the till asked them politely to go in the back instead of arguing in front of customers. I was shocked to then hear the owner berate her, telling her to “mind your business, shut up and do your bloody job “. Nobody deserves to be spoken to like that by an employer, and from what I heard following, this is a regular occurrence. This definitely isn’t the sort of person whose local business I would like to support.
