After an unforgettable Liverpool Football Club guided tour, our group of friends stumbled upon an absolute gem for Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant. From the very first bite, we were blown away, the food was amazing, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The service matched the meal, attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. What makes this place even more special is its heritage, proudly run for 50 years, passed down from father to sons, it carries a legacy of passion and tradition that you can taste in every dish. When I find myself in Liverpool again, there’s no question, I’ll be back here without hesitation. Highly recommended!

I visited Gate of India in Waterloo, a proper old-skool curry house that’s been around for nearly 50 years, and the food really delivered. The Chicken Tikka starter was tender and full of flavour, and the Lamb Chops were nicely spiced. The Chicken Bhuna had a rich, classic taste, and both the Dhal and Tarka Dhal were warm, comforting and perfectly cooked. A traditional, long-standing restaurant that still knows how to serve great food. I’d definitely return.

Went last night for the first time in a while after going off it a bit, and I was very impressed again. Food was very good and good portion sizes. Chicken tikka Balti was very very good. And chicken tikka Jalfrezi also excellent. Definitely going back soon..... Comes in at cΒ£30pp for poppadoms and a main and a couple of drinks.

WOW. First time here cant believe Ive missed it before. Wonderful authentic food. Some very different meals on menu. Everything we had was first class curry. Service was excellent could not do enough for us. Even gave us a taste of different Kulfi flavours. Will definitely be going back.

1st time at the gate of India. Ordered poppidoms and chutneys for starters was very tasty. I ordered tandoori mixed grill which came with a side of curry of your choice, delicious. Ordered mushroom rice was also very tasty. Partner ordered lamb Tikka which tasted lovely but sadly let down as it had to be sent back as was only warm. Came back quickly as if been in microwave. One more fault was the time we waited for the food. Starters came out reasonably fast but we then waited around 40 mins for main meal. Seemed to be high demand with take away dishes. I do believe if you are in the restaurant you should take priority to take away. Saying all this we would return as we did enjoy the food and would recommend.

Ordered online and had my delivery time changed twice. Yes they are busy; but the delivery time should be known (within reason) when an order is placed. Anything subsequent to that should not delay an order. I will never use this place again. I gave Zero Stars but one has been added.

Visited the Gate last night for evening meal ,we’ve been going there for over 30 years now and I can honestly say we’ve never had an average meal , every one has been fantastic. I can’t recommend them highly enough, their food is delicious and the staff are helpful and professional. Thanks to Nasser and all the staff.

After ordering at 1720. My food finally arrived at 1945. Luke warm and not a bit of flavour. It was quite possibly the worst Indian I have eaten. Tesco do a better microwave korma. To think the food came from a restaurant is shocking. They clearly don’t want repeat custom. My bill was just short of Β£30 of which the reduced it to Β£20. I wish I had of sent it back. It’s a Β£20 lesson to not bother eating from there again. AVOID AT ALL COST
