Rather terrible pizza - the salami was completely inedible. The manager could also do with looking and sounding less surly. I wonder whether people like her have heard of the concept of service with a smile? Altro che piccolo villaggio, un piccolo sorriso sarebbe stato gradito!

Piccolo Villaggio in London Location: Il Piccolo Villaggio is tucked away at 59 Church Lane, London N2 8DR, in the East Finchley / Barnet area. It’s about half a mile from East Finchley station. Average Cost: When dining à la carte, main courses are around £14–£19 depending on dish and ingredients. If you include drinks, dessert etc, a full dinner will likely come to something in the £30–£45 per person range, more if ordering more premium items. Perfect dishes: Garlic prawns or calamari fritti and their pasta dishes, especially the risottos and the house-special “Penne alla Villaggio”. The garlic prawns were amazing. The staff were warm, attentive and friendly definitely mades us feel welcomed. The waiters are helpful with recommendations, and that the pacing of the service allows time between courses (not rushed). Their knowledge of the menu also gets praise, which adds to the relaxed, enjoyable experience. Amazing Restaurant: Between the cosy and authentic atmosphere, the high quality of the food, and the consistent positive feedback on service, Il Piccolo Villaggio delivers what you want from a neighbourhood Italian restaurant: comfort, flavour, and a place you’d want to return to. If you have Italian blood , like me ..it feels like home.

Really lovely Italian restaurant- family owned and run and you can tell. The food is delicious and super well priced, helped by being your own bottle for wine. We’ve been repeatedly throughout the summer and it’s been a lovely place to sit outside with the sun shining.

Small, packed restaurant. Service was slow. Minestrone was a bit bland. Food was good but nothing special.

Small, tucked away, authentic Italian restaurant located in the back streets of East Finchley. It came recommended to us and we were not let down when we visited. Great value, food and service and we liked the fact it was BYOB. We'll be sure to be back.

My favourite Italian by far. A hidden gem or maybe not as it is supper popular. Amazing food, pizzas are the best in London, I have not found anywhere better except when in Rome. The Restaurant is cozy, relaxed and a good atmosphere. As for the service, the staff are brilliant and in particular Alina!!! Thank you for always taking care of us and providing a great experience!
