First time trying out Amera Rani as I live in the area and I would say that it’s good value for money and great food
We chose Amera Rani because the menu includes a number of dishes that you don’t see elsewhere. We had the lamb Salli and their own chicken kebab to start and then Tandoori King Prawns and Afghani Lamb Shank. All were excellent - tasty but not over hot (spicy dishes are marked). Also, the service was excellent: observant without being over the top, and friendly and helpful throughout. Highly recommended.
Azis (The owner) and his team have always strived and delivered on giving me and my family a 5* dining experience here when we visit. Been a regular customer here for years. Simply the best curry house going!
a really nice restaurant. The food was excellent they have a great variety of options some with no spice at all and some are tremendously spicy. It’s very easy to tell the spice of the food thanks to the accurate spice rating. the service was excellent i genuinely have nothing bad to say about the restaurant.
Food was delicious but the panneer Samosa should be bigger portion. The staff were very friendly and professional. We booked using the fork so received a 50 percent discount.
Nice cosy venue. Tasty food. Accommodating of young children. Friendly staff and short wait for food which was good as we went after a busy days shopping on Purley Way!
Lovely service and food. Would definitely recommend anyone who wants to taste authentic traditional Indian food. Will definitely visit again!
Called to book a table for two, advised I have a tastecard can I use it was told yes come there's a banquet menu you have to pay cash. Arrived before ordering again told the younger waiter that I have a taste card he said thats OK. He came with the menu and said it banquet night for £11.95 each we can select from the menu 4 items starter, main, side and either bread or rice. I said can I use the the tastecard for this he said yes. Ate the food glad we didn't have to pay the full price as the portion size for the banquet menu seemed small. £14.95 for salmon tikka with 4 small pieces of salmon covered with lots of onions on a skewer. Food was average nothing to get too excited about. Asked for the bill and was being charged full price. Said I have a tastecard u need to do 2 for 1 deal. To be told banquet meal not available on tastecard. He then said he would do the charges again charging full price and then using the tastecard and it came to the same price.... so basically I paid full price for banquet portions size meal. Waiter said must have been a misunderstanding...there wasn't I was extremely clear asking him several times even whilst ordering the salmon is this on tastecard? A dishonest practice..why did we have to pay cash?..something is not being properly put through the books. Then we pay the same as the banquet price. Also was annoyed when I left didn't realise that they kept the receipt!! Feel the books are being cooked!
A great place to eat, the service was brilliant and the food was of top quality. The prices were very reasonable, my partner and I were able to dine on 3 starters, 3 drinks, 2 mains and a naan, all for under £50. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant, perhaps some more upbeat music would of been better but otherwise a lovely evening.
Excellent service good hospitality great food the best in town highly recommended always makes you very welcome. Be back soon my best friend wants to try it also. Thanks again to all the Team at Amera Rani
