   Delicious tacos in Nags Head market - we came here for their Taco Tuesday deal (12pm-8pm) for £3 a taco, a steal! Our favourites were the spicy pork and chicken tinga, flavourful and juicy. The beef suadero was ok but a bit dry. Lovely service. Highly recommend!

   Absolutely incredible. The food was truly sensational and about as close to eating in Mexico as you can get in London. Every dish had its own vivid personality and depth of flavour. I actually started taking photos of everything, but after the third dish I put my phone away and just enjoyed the moment. The team’s warmth made the experience even better; Jose and Juan were especially friendly and incredibly helpful with recommendations. I ended up eating and drinking for nearly two hours, completely losing track of time. It felt like being on holiday rather than a regular Thursday afternoon. I’ve been wanting to try Proper Tacos for ages, and now that I finally have, it’s absolutely going to become one of my regular spots.

   Hands down the best tortillas in all of London, and best tacos de carnitas too! Handmade blue corn tortillas really make the taco, and the fillings don’t disappoint. We tried tinga de pollo, pollo con mole, and chicharrón prensado. All of them were really good, but the absolute best were the tacos de carnitas. Deliciously moreish, so good we had to take some home, along with a couple dozen tortillas and salsa. Tere kindly packed carnitas and toppings for us, which we had today at home. And now I’m completely hooked, I’ll have go back for more soon. If you have a gathering at home (from a few guests to a big party), you can preorder tortillas, fillings, and toppings and you’ll impress everyone. The service is warm and attentive, and Tere makes everyone’s visit special. ¡Gracias! P.S. I’m from Mexico City. Some reviews have been critical of the ambience and waiting times. This is a market food stall, like the best ones in Mexico City, and there’s a special charm in that. As for waiting times, they are quite quick for London, way faster than any pub. Update: visited again for the special Dia de Muertos menu. Spectacular pozole, tamales, and agua de horchata.

   Absolutely fantastic, authentic and high quality food. (Pun) Proper Mexican cuisine ! Everyone is very friendly. I asked for a 3 tacos platter “con todo” with everything and also mentioned I like PICANTE. And so it was delivered. The salsa macha was also delicious. I love Mexican cuisine but unfortunately you cannot find good spots in London or south of England. From a fellow Latin American: Gracias por todo!

   This place is fantastic! The service was really kind and helpful. The staff member made sure I was familiar with their menu, guided me through my options and then asked me about which toppings I wanted. The food was prepared in a timely manner and was completely delicious. Simple and bold flavours, it felt super authentic! One of the best in London, and I’ve tried a lot! I happened to go on a Tuesday and they had a taco Tuesday offer: £9 for 3 tacos. There’s a small seating area, nothing fancy but the atmosphere is adequate.

   The food was tasty, the tortilla for quesadilla delicious and the tacos tortillas are made from scratch! Teresa was welcoming and has passion for her food. I’m so glad I discovered this place. Can’t wait to come back, the prices very affordable too.

   Do you like Mexican food? Real Mexican food? Well stop searching, this is the only place in North London where you can get proper homemade tacos. Wow, Teresa knows how to combine flavours! Everything is made fresh, from the tacos, sauces, right in front of your eyes and proper spicy! You have to go and get at least 3 tacos, you will be blow away from the flavours!

   Delicious tacos in Nags Head market, lovely people running it make you feel at home when eating in. Really enjoyed the quesadilla too but for me the beef taco was the best! Up there with Sonora tacos for the best I've had in London

   I went to have some proper mexican tacos with friends. They were delicious!! And the fact that the place is in a small market makes you feel that you are having tacos de la esquina in Mexico. I will go back for sure. I bought more tacos to take away and my husband loved them too. Thanks!
