A sensational afternoon tea experience. The teas were unusual and delicious. The food, both savory and sweet, was freshly made, and of superior quality. Topping it all off, an elegant yet understated atmosphere with friendly, attentive service. A special thanks to the sweet blonde waitress who helped us with our language skills with uncommon patience and attention.

Party of two came for dinner to Refuel and we loved it! We booked through The Fork and we were amazed by the quality of the produce, the venue and the great service offered. We ordered the oxtail croquettes (£10) which where fabulous, not the traditional spanish croquettes per se, but delightful nonetheless; it consisted of tender oxtail meat with a fried crumb covering, which came with grated parmesan and sauce. For mains, we ordered the forest crab ravioli with tomato and shellfish dressing (£16) and the papardelle, woodland mushrooms, wild garlic and parmesan (£11). The ravioli was heavenly, a very generous portion of crab and a delicious dressing, and the papardelle were freshly made, with tons of mushrooms and incredibly flavourful. For dessert, we ordered the white chocolate and peach Melba choux (£9) which was also amazing, not too overly sweet and very proportional; and the Compressed melon, cherry and watermelon sorbet (£9) which was our favourite dessert, it was very refreshing, all of the flavours were balanced and complemented nicely. The service was superb and efficient, and we really enjoyed our experience.

Refuel is a true hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Soho. I’ve been visiting this restaurant for over 15 years, and it has never failed to impress. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive, making every dining experience a pleasure. Their set menu is excellent value and highly recommendable for those who enjoy a well-curated selection of dishes. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a relaxed evening meal, Refuel delivers on both quality and atmosphere. Without a doubt, it’s one of my favourite spots in London, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Located within the Soho Hotel, Refuel boasts a vibrant interior designed by Kit Kemp, blending bold colours with a distinctive mix of Eastern and Western influences. When we visited, the bar area was buzzing and packed, while the main dining tables remained about 95% empty—and stayed that way throughout the evening. Ox tail croquettes: A highlight—three per portion, filled with well-seasoned, tender pulled meat. Bread basket: Excellent sourdough served with rich, creamy butter. Crab lasagne: More akin to a crab dumpling in texture, but it came with a beautiful, flavourful bisque. Beetroot salad: Light and refreshing with a nice crunch from the nuts. Côte de boeuf: A generous 780g serving, cooked medium-well. The centre pieces were nicely pink, but the edges were noticeably overdone. Served with decent fries, a forgettable side salad, and two sauces: a peppercorn sauce overloaded with peppercorns, and a gloopy béarnaise. Cocktails We had two rounds of cocktails. The Negronis were underfilled and overly iced, which diluted the drink too quickly. The Pachanga (£16)—a mix of Ojo de Dios Hibiscus Mezcal, Savoia liqueur, prickly pear cordial, orange, lemon, and a substantial coconut foam—was quite enjoyable, though a touch sweet. Service Friendly and attentive throughout, which added to the overall experience.

Went here for Valentine’s Day with my fiancée. The food and service was amazing. They really look after us and made sure that we’d have the best experience. Compliments to the chef and all kitchen staff. The only thing I don’t like about the place is when the car headlight goes through the restaurant. It was a bit disturbing whenever there a car going to the hotel. But overall it’s good ;)

Great ambience Good food We originally had the set menu in mind when we booked our reservation but it was explained that from Wednesday to Friday the set menu stops at 7pm. There’s still the option of enjoying the choices from the bar menu but I opted for the Chicken curry and cheesecake for dessert. For drinks I had a lemonade as wasn’t having alcohol though there was a great drinks menu including the house cocktail selection (or your favourite if not listed). Great helpful staff and when we explained it was a joint birthday celebration they gave us some delicious cake with fruits.

The Refuel Bar & Restaurant is a delightful place to have a drink or meal with friends, before a show or cocktail before moving on elsewhere. We were looking for a place away from the Soho crowds and having called them within five minutes we had a table for 6. The cocktails were lovely, well presented and very tasty. The staff were respectful and excellent in service. The design of the bar and surrounding area is elegantly thought out and the imagery behind the bar is awesome. Highly recommended – a little hidden gem in Soho, close to bars, China Town and theatres.
