Full disclosure: we stopped in just to have a drink and a nibble -- so this does not reflect a complete dinner experience. During Christmas time you will be impressed with a spectacularly decorated entry. (See picture.) We ordered two drinks, which were both excellent, one was nonalcoholic. We ordered the Salmon tacos and the Game terrine en croûte. Both were excellent. You may be wondering: why 4 stars and not 5? I would have given 4.5 if possible. The issue with the service is hard to explain, but I'll try: everyone seemed well-trained, but I think we got a new guy who wasn't quite at the top level. He was lovely in demeanour. My issue with the service was that it felt like everything was being rush, rush, rushed. When the excellent sourdough bread was finished, the server removed not just the empty dish, but also the remaining butter. Too bad for us and the bread we still had on our bread plates. When our two appetizers were served, our bread plates, along with our remaining bread was whisked away without a word. The bread was not the only rushed detail, but it's all that's worth mentioning here. We had the feeling of getting the proverbial "bum's rush". Not ideal, as you can imagine.

My partner and I came in for a couple of cocktails and was served by Haroon at the bar. Maroon had only been there a month but you can tell he really enjoys his work and it showed!. The hospitality he demonstrated was top tier. Drinks were really well made and the overall ambiance was fantastic. I'm not really sure what else I can add other than Haroon made our visit memorable and we will definitely be back

Good food if you’re into luxurious but not too expensive dishes ☺️ Service was amazing. And atmosphere takes you back to 17th century Paris. Great for romantic dinners.

We were walking down the street to eat dinner, and had to walk in to L'oscar, because of the uh-mazing interior! The food was great, (especially loved the bread and butter) the staffs were nice, the dessert was a cherry on top. We're only familiar with a few cocktails, so choosing from L'oscar's menu was a bit of a challenge, but overall they weren't too bad.

There is a slight feeling of old world decadence and privilege when you visit here, which is quite nice in this era of cold modern interiors. The staff are very professional and the food is of exceptional quality. Visit for a lengthy lunch in the Holborn area of London.

Food was good but portions were not really generous for the price plus you then have to order side. The service was really friendly and welcoming especially the french guy who speak like 5 languages.

What can I say about this lovely restaurant in a beautiful old hotel... The decor is fantastic, the alabaster birds are so beautiful. The FOOOD! I had the baby spinach salad. It was amazing. The dressing, the artichoke, the garlic.. everything was fantastic. Then the main course. I had the veal. It was very tasty and cooked to perfection. I could have eaten this every meal for the entire trip. Then to top it all off was the Rhum Baba. All I can say is bravo! This is a great place for a business lunch, and from what I understand you have to stick around for the happy hour at the Baptist. Great experience, excellent staff! So excellent we had a 5 hour lunch.

Not amazing food, but not too bad either. The deserts definitely redeemed the place for me. The place is beautiful, but the food is ok. Nothing special and not a big selection either. I would recommend skipping starters and leave some space for desert.
