   Ponte Nuovo has got to be the best Italian in Croydon. A great selection of starters, the bread and oil is so simple yet incredibly moreish, and the main courses are full of flavour and depth. Big big portions. Save space for the deserts, the gigantic profiteroles in a sea of chocolate sauce, the insanely rich tiramisu. Staff are very friendly and speak highly of the italian chef and kitchen staff; a sure sign of a good front of house/back of house team relationship. Service was perfect, meals bought out together and well presented. This is somewhere you bring family for a great dinner. At this time of year it had a good but not overpowering christmas decorative theme. We're going back soon.

   Service good on arrival for our party of 4 but after clearing our starters we waited 50 minutes for main course. No acknowledgement from staff so I had to go and find a member of staff to raise the issue. A few larger groups nearing the end of their evening but restaurant not full. Management were very apologetic and offered complimentary drink when I settled the bill but it was all a bit late by that time unfortunately.

   I recently dined at Ponte Nuovo and went in with high expectations, given its reputation as the best Italian restaurant in Croydon. I ordered the Seafood Marinara, which was savoury, indulgent, and satisfying. For drink, the service staff, Peter, recommended me their Strawberry Caipiroska, a fruity, vibrant, and refreshing cocktail that complemented the juicy tomato flavours of the Seafood Marinara. For my second drink, I tried the Al Ponte, mainly to compare it with the Strawberry Caipiroska. It was sweet and aromatic with a hint of cream. It turned out to be a lovely dessert cocktail and a pleasant way to round off the meal. Overall, I had a delightful experience at Ponte Nuovo and would happily return.

   Food was excellent. Ordered the prawn linguine and tiramisu for dessert. Very friendly staff. The only thing I didn’t like was the choice of background music. YMCA coming on while you’re eating Italian didn’t feel authentic.

   Searching for places to eat in the local area and this Italian place popped up. I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the food was absolutely exquisite. The Lamb shank and Rabbit meat are great!! The Panna Cotta may be the best dessert I’ve ever had in a while! Just annoyed I had to share it.
