We entered the store and were immediately greeted by the staff in their open kitchen. From the appetizers to the main dishes, everything was spot on — everything tasted really good. The staff were also very friendly.
Had dinner at Dem Restaurant and loved it! The food was fresh, flavourful, and the portions were huge. The staff were super friendly and the place had such a warm, cozy vibe. Definitely one of the best Turkish spots in London — the mixed grill and baklava are a must!
What an absolute Turkish Delight. This restaurant is A-Mazing... Plenty of food options, with lots of delicious choices. Meat is grilled inside with open kitchen viewing, so inside can get a little hot. Extensive drinks and cocktail menu, the cocktails are strong & tasty. Environment is really cosy, and great for couples, families, groups, etc Food was 10/10, no room for any issues whatsoever. The chicken, beef and lamb was exceptionally cooked, flavoursome and delicious. Condiments and accompaniments were spot on. Total feast for a foodie. Staff were so friendly, and welcoming. And to end the meal you are given complementary Bakalava, which although I was stuffed; tasted divine and finished the experience off to perfection.
Went there for dinner on a Monday evening with my wife and another couple. Once we walked in, we were warmly greated by one of the chefs and then we went to the table where our friend was waiting for us. The menus were already on the table, so we started thinking what we were going to have so by the time the last member of our group arrived, we could place the orders. We started with a cold mix meze platter and 2 ayrans to drink. The flatbread that came with the platter was very nice and full of flavour as it had been warmed up on the grill where the meats were being done. On the platter there was a combination of yoghurt with spinach and herbs, hummus, olives, tabuleh and a few slices of cucumbers and tomatoes. After thoroughly enjoying that, it was the time for the main event: the Dem Jumbo meal platter. As we were 4 people, we originally asked if this would be enough and our host was quick to reassure us that it will be. We were definitely impressed with the size of the platter. It had chicken breast, wings and lamb on top, flatbread in the middle and rice and bulgur wheat as the base. Everything was incredibly flavoured and we actually had to take some of the food as takeaway as it was too much. At the end, we ordered some Turkish tea and baclava. The tea was nice and hot, so it helped with the digestion, whereas the baclava's sweetness was welcomed after all the meat intake. The service was very good and the host was kind enough to take off the baclava from the bill, a small gesture which we appreciated. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and quiet up until 2 large groups came in. They were having a good time, but they could've been a bit more mindful about the other customers. This does not take anything from the great service we received. Overall a very nice experience, incredible food and we would love to come back again.
I cannot find the words to say how amazing our meal was at Dem on Thursday night. The starters, dips and bread were delicious. The main was incredible. I had Ali Nazik - photo attached, which was so delicious and then we topped it all off with Turkish tea and baklava. The staff were so welcoming, attentive and polite. We were looked after so very well. Thank you so very much. We look forward to coming again. How lucky are we to have such a fabulous Turkish restaurant in Crystal Palace.
The place is 10 min from Gypsy Hill and up the hill and poss the same distance from Crystal Palace train station. The restaurant is spacious and seems to offer outdoor( when weather permits) and indoor seating I have mixed feelings/reviews about this restaurant; the food is good and the service is great. The staff succeed in going the extra mile without being too annoying and on Wednesday evening the atmosphere was quite lively. There was a group celebrating a birthday and groups of friends catching up over dinner. The food is fresh and you can view the "meat" dish on/display and with the glass wall, you can see how they cook the meat. The whole experience seems that the restaurant is trying to elevate to some sort of fine dining experience. Which is nothing wrong with it, however, the price for the mixed grill of chicken and lamb kofta doesn't tally up with the portion of what's been served, which is two screws with 5 pc of each meat. With the main dish came some greens, and some bread was covered in spice (which gave flavor to the bread) but the bread was a bit crunchy(er) than what I expected. I would come back and trying something different.
Strangely empty at 1pm on Good Friday. However it was a great choice to eat a huge meal. Very tasty. The staff were very welcoming. And all to happy to box up the remaining kebabs for us to take home.
Visited Dem for lunch. I have to say the service was first class and I cannot fault them. I ordered the chicken kofta with a bed of rice and cous cous. Chicken wsa cooked with a little and taste absolutely wonderful. Very succulent and flavoursome. Rice and cous cous cooked just right. Very enjoyable meal. Highly recommend Dem Restaurant. I will definitely be visiting again.
