Extremely disappointing experience. The food was genuinely unpleasant — poorly prepared, badly seasoned, and tasted off. Within a short time after eating, I felt very unwell and ended up being physically sick, which is completely unacceptable from any restaurant. What makes it even worse is how overpriced everything was for such poor quality. Charging premium prices for food that was inedible and made me ill is unacceptable. Nothing about the meal felt fresh, and it left me questioning basic hygiene and food safety standards. For a restaurant with such high ratings, this was shocking. I would not recommend this place to anyone and definitely won’t be returning. There are far better places offering Eritrean/Ethiopian food that provide real value and don’t put your health at risk.

This place is a gem. The food was unreal. The awaze lamb in particular was easily one of the best dishes I have eaten this year. Portions are generous, flavours are rich, and everything feels prepared with care. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the people. The owners are warm, welcoming, and great to talk to. I ended up chatting with them for a while and you can feel how much pride they put into their work. They treat you like a guest, not just a customer. Great food, great atmosphere, and genuinely good people behind it. Highly recommend. This spot deserves the love.

Absolutely Incredible. Best Habesha Food I’ve Ever Had I don’t usually leave reviews, but Laza Restaurant truly deserves it. This was hands down the best Habesha food I’ve ever had in my life — and I’ve tried many places around the world. Every dish was rich, authentic, and full of flavour. You can immediately tell the food is made with care and real passion. The tibs was tender, and every vegetarian option was seasoned to perfection. Portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted freshly made. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was exceptional — friendly staff who made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for REAL, high-quality Habesha food in London, Laza is the place. Already planning my next visit. Highly, highly recommend!

Ordered from Too Good To Go and paid £6 for supposedly £18 worth of food. We were sorely disappointed. The point of TGTG is to avoid waste by selling left over food at a reduced price so given the pictures and reviews we were expecting a tasty feast of veggie food we’re used to from other Ethiopian restaurants. This was a tiny portion of bland tasteless lentils and steamed cabbage. We felt for sure this had been prepared separately to make a cynical profit from TGTG customers and not at all in the spirit of the app. Really not good at all.

Absolutely delicious food, super friendly and attentive service. Great decor and relaxed vibe. Food was very reasonably priced for the quantity. Went with a small group who all loved it. Will definitely be returning again and try the coffee ceremony as well next time!

Delicious place with fantastic hosts. The food is good, generous and tasty. Strong recommendation, have a try with the meat combo that offers a good idea of Ethiopian tastes and cuisine. It also exists with a vegetarian touch.

So so good. We've been here a couple of times and the lamb dish (stewed lamb - can't remember the name - in the centre of the picture) is delicious. The staff are really friendly and seemingly very proud of the food that they serve - and rightly so. Laza is fully deserving of their excellent reviews online and can't wait to come back here again.

Hidden gem! Great variety of dishes, they can adjust the spice level to taste. Chairs are super comfy, perfect atmosphere for a date night. We’ve ordered a meat combo - just watch out because if you do, you don’t choose the combination. We accidentally ordered more dishes thinking they were included, but they weren’t. In the end we got a discount and delicious leftovers, so overall still a great experience! Will definitely be back.
