    awful fish and chips worst iv ever had chips werent great but the fish is laughable. swimming in grease and full of bones. never would i eat there again. And as im someone who rarely does reviews it must have been bad. save your money trust me its no good

    Fantastic cod'n'chips. I always ask for the fish to be skinned - I find the batter sticks better that way. Also ask for a box rather than having the fish wrapped - stays more crispy. Staff really friendly. Only consider recent reviews over recent weeks - the site was previously occupied by Bell's which really went downhill. Some of the reviews refer to Bell's. These people are new: they've refitted the place and have a completely different attitude. Also a 5* hygiene rating too - which from my observation is well deserved. The place is really clean. Good luck to The Fish Bar, they really deserve to do well. EDIT July 2020: My original review was a few months ago. Update: Still as good as ever and reopened after a short corona shut down. EDIT Dec 2021: Was a bit worried after a change of hands, but still as good as ever. Really think they deserve more support from local people.

    Always friendly, always clean. Had the chicken fillet with chips and a battered sausage and chips to take away. We absolutely demolished both meals as usual. We'll worth the prices. Good selection to choose from.
