Food is quite good but I consider it quite expensive compared to other Turkish restaurants I tried (This is pretty common for Beckenham High Street I would say, and London is more and more unreasonably expensive even in zone 4 so not a surprise). The place is quite small and gets crowded quite easily, so it becomes noisy and they put very loud music for celebrations (like birthdays, annivrsaries etc) which is something I don't like too much. Also, they did not warn me and my partner about the loud music, that scared our 6 months old (and us! it was definitely too loud and too sudden). The staff apologised a lot, but I can't leave more than 3 stars unfortunately.

A large group, we had a great lunch here. Definitely recommend booking especially for more than 4, as it is a very popular restaurant. We all chose the £29 offer with large portions of different meze, delicious fresh hummous and yogurt based sauce. Then each chose a main from a large selection. All the lamb- based dishes were very generous portions, and very tasty, and the moussaka was also great. Highly recommended, definitely go back if im the area again.

Wonderful food - excellent flavour and decent portion sizes. Service was a little uneven when we were there - sometimes almost too attentive, other times not enough. (Example: Asked us 2-3 times how our food was, but we had to ask 3 people before we received a glass of water.) It’s not huge, so reservations may be useful during busy times. Car parks and street parking nearby if traveling in. Clean toilets.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Hisar and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and the lovely scent of freshly cooked food greeted us. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making us feel like part of the family. The menu offered a variety of traditional Turkish dishes, and every bite was a delightful adventure. The mixed grill was perfectly seasoned and tender, while the meze platter was a vibrant explosion of flavors – I couldn't get enough of the hummus and calamari. The attention to detail in both the food and the service really stood out. Every dish was beautifully presented, and you could tell a lot of love went into creating each plate. I highly recommend Hisar to anyone craving authentic Turkish cuisine. It’s a hidden gem that I’ll definitely be returning to soon!

Too the wife and daughter for her birthday, booked in advance on their website, which was easy, and got a confirmation same day. Saturday evening was very busy. The atmosphere was nice , the service was very good and the food was hot, fresh tastie and very filling , and they don't automatically add service charge to the bill

Great service, lovely food, massive portions. Ordered the set menu (dinner) which was great value, probably too much food but they generously gave us boxes to take food home. Lots of diners were regulars which is a good sign. We'll be back but probably going for smaller portions next time :)

Visited this place first during the eat out to help out covid era and again this weekend and both times it was a 10/10 for both food and customer service. Particularly love the koftes and mixed grill. Would have loved to have tried the homemade baklava but unfortunately was way too full to attempt it. They have an £18.95 set lunch menu Monday- Friday which include a starter and main course.

Can't believe we've never been here before. Such great food. The portions are ENORMOUS. The spices they add to all the dishes are perfectly balanced, the food is so well seasoned and cooked. I had the adana kofte and it was everything you want from that kind of kebab. The borek starter is also superbly light and flavoursome. The service was really friendly too. Very reasonably priced.

It reminded me that food is so much better in a restaurant, the meat succulent, the flavours fresh and well balanced. The staff are as friendly and welcoming as ever with a great welcome to all who entered.

Small, intimate, professional and friendly. The best lamb ribs I've had in a long time.We did the set menu to share and was not disappointed. A selection of starters came out that could have been a feast on it's own. Then the choice of one main. My rice, ribs and salad tasted very good. Had to take some home and when I ate it the next day, I promise you it was just as good. Not dry and simply seasoned. Coming back here for sure.
