   While I was thankful to finally be able to get some food that wasn't full of allergens after an event at the Excel,I do feel that £9 (£7 plus more than £2 service charge) was a lot for a small portion of chips. I would have ordered something additional but I was told that they were unable to help. Apparently they're chicken is not fresh, but it is edible. I take that to mean it's processed, frozen. Hopefully they don't actually mean it's not fresh

   Upon arrival after an otherwise lovely day out with my girlfriend we are informed that although being paying residents off the hotel we have to make reservation which we obliged and returned after an hour. After we ordered it took a whole 40 minute to prepare our order despite the place not being busy. While we were waiting we noticed several plates of food being sent back to the kitchen which was not a good sign. When our food finally came, it was cold n the bun on the chicken burger was toasted by the heat lamp It had sat underneath for an extended period of time. The servers apologised and did admit that the cooks had not been up to standard. The management needs to act on this or risk loosing future customers

   The food was good but pricy. Better than expected from the reviews. The steak was very good but they were out of 4 different wines and the bar in the hotel was almost dry. Almost all spirits except vodka seemed to be low or out. I was with a large group of people and they all said the same thing. It was almost like they forgot the drinks order. For an events hotel next to excel that isn’t good

   Was starving and thought I would treat myself to dinner whilst staying at aloft. Had fish and chips and was really disappointed. The fish was greasy and soggy and didn't justify the price. There is also an automatically added service charge to the bill, which I found unfair. I was served by a bald Caucasian man that seemed to be the only one taking his role seriously, the rest of the staff were just messing around destroying the whole atmosphere. I have stayed a few times at this hotel and it's a shame to see the low standards I've noticed in this restaurant . I've always enjoyed my stays here, but this restaurant is a disappointing experience. Please step up and improve.

   The food is awful!!! “Chipotle chicken” tacos (that are served freezing cold fyi)… That chicken has never seen a seasoning a day in its life and the salsa is straight out of a grocery store jar, same with the taco shell, looks like Taco Bell. Why are we putting a mix of lettuce, arugula and carrots in tacos? Also got the sea bass and it tasted like freezer burn, had bones in it, and again no seasoning. Broccolini was soaked in just butter, no salt no pepper. Please do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. The best decision we made was ordering a side of onion rings, and even those were undercooked… I’d rather have a tuna mayo sandwich from Boots lol

   Really cool building and setting and service really nice. My girlfriend has eaten her multiple times and assured me it was nice. But the pizza I got was truly awful. Basically just cheap tomato spread on bread with droppings of a questionable cheese on top. I asked for more cheese after and it was still poor. Burgers looked decent. But avoid the pizza...

   Service is good. Food is basic but tasty. Ok if you are hungry or at the hotel but not one to go out of your way for. Buffet breakfast has a wide range but be prepared to wait for the toaster
