The Michelin guide is maybe a bit extreme but it’s pretty good food, some lacking salt. The portions are very generous so don’t over order like we did: Squid was meh, very rubbery and almost felt frozen. Croquettes were pretty good, especially the ham with mustard sauce. The tomapork had a nice char flavour - by the bone & fat was juicy and flavoursome however the loin was super overcooked & dry. Truffle tortellini was really good filled to the brim with ricotta (one of the best dishes).

We held our work Christmas Party here last night (38 people!). I can't say enough good things about it. From the whole booking process through to the brilliant service on the night, the team at TD&H did an exceptional job. The food was delicious and came out perfectly timed (not easy with a party of 38), the drinks never stopped flowing, there were plenty of staff to look after us and (icing on the cake) there was great live entertainment after the meal, which meant we felt like it was a proper party. Thanks so much to the team - we are really grateful for a wonderful evening.

Awesome lunch deal! My friend and I split the soup, BBQ ribs, mussels and chips, and blueberry cheesecake. So much good food for the price – totally worth it!

One of the best restaurants in not just Essex but the UK that we have been to - excellent food, menu and service.

My husband and I stopped by this restaurant on the way home from a road trip for some lunch from a recommendation off the Michelin guide. It was very quiet around 2pm when we went which was nice. Definitely recommend the fresh bread - it was delightful. The food was very good, although I will say that portion size was a bit lacking for the price in my opinion. The true start of this establishment is the cocktails. My husband and I have agreed to come back to try more cocktails once we were not driving home because they really were outstanding. The atmosphere was very nice, nicely decorated. The service was a bit stand-offish. I didn't feel like our waiter was overly friendly which was unexpected for a very quiet time. Overall, would definitely go back and try some more drinks and dishes!

Attentive service, delicious food with a great range of options. Reasonably priced for the quality of food. Atmosphere is relaxed but also fitting for a special event or occasion. Have returned a few times to celebrate with family.

Went on Saturday night Jubilee weekend with a friend for dinner. All of the food was very good- in particular the corn "rib" starter and the rack of lamb was perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly, helpful and always available when needed. The ambience was lively and fun. There was a live singer (Sammie Jay) who provided quality entertainment. Will definitely visit again

From start to finish was a perfect service. Very warm and welcoming people. The food taste as good as it looked. Every thing was cooked spot on. Definitely one for a taste bud tingler. Cocktails were great. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for.

Had Sunday lunch there on 24 Oct 2021. Just loved it. Had the beef joint with all the trimmings. It was fab, you definitely won't leave hungry. By the way, they did bring extra Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese too.

Visited TDH on a Sunday. Got seated immediately. We ordered a roast dinner platter with all the trimmings and lamb shoulder for £100. On the pricier side. This platter is good for 3 people. It was so delicious but slightly over oily. The cabbage and sprouts are to die for! The meat falls off the bone & is tender and juicy. I ordered a champagne cocktail expecting it to be a bellini or something creative but it was underwhelming and literally a glass of sparkling wine with a brown sugar cube plopped at the bottom of the glass. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. They kept checking up on us to see if we needed anything & if the food was good. Drink service was veryyyy slow. Interior is so pretty! I would go again to try their seafood; I've heard great things
