I chose this restaurant Five Rivers as i am local and wanted to eat out locally and tried to find a good Punjabi restaurant for an evening meal with my partner, the service was a hundred percent very welcoming and beyond expectations. The owner himself was very humble and welcoming and it was a real family vibe, the food was very fresh and cooked with love, I would say it is the best punjabi restaurant that I have tasted in the borough itself. I can't fault anything, the owner talked with us and made us feel very comfortable, the service and food and the friendly staff, I can only say was very high above a service that I did not expect. I would recommend this lovely restaurant, with its bar area and drinks and lovely food. I will definitely be coming back again and ordering. I want to thank the owner again for his humble hospitality towards us and for us having a great evening at this restaurant.. Again if anyone is wanting proper desi style punjabi food this is the place
Hands down the best curry I have ever eaten! I am also of Indian heritage so that is not a light statement. It was absolutely incredible! The taste ,the texture and the service was impeccable.
Had a lovely meal with a few colleagues before Christmas. As always, the food was amazing, staff are very friendly and everyone enjoyed themselves. Highly recommended

10/10 best punjabi food I have tasted for a mile. I've tried a lot of places around the area and they're just bland, watered down versions of real authentic Indian food. It's the little things that matter to me, like the real generous addition of spices and ginger and garlic in the cooking; or the perfect balance of herbs complimenting dishes and the way in which the kitchen will cook each dish perfectly to your desired spice level (and believe me you can tell they have listened to this on the order) Staff are super friendly and helpful. The ambiance is lively and entertaining. Pretty much exactly what you want in an Indian restaurant. Could not rate this place more highly and will most certainly be returning in the near future!
(still) Great food, amongst the best (shame no singing just yet). The service is still polite and efficient and because quieter less stretched. Did I already say that the food is amazing, and contrary to some other posters here not inflated more than I would expect. Surprisingly good value mojito cocktail good enough for a central London bar but about 25% cheaper.
Five Rivers Grill & Restaurant / Apni Haveli, 35 The Slade, London SE18 2NB Visited Five Rivers Grill & Restaurant /Apni Haveli, 35 The Slade, London SE182NB for dinner today 3rd June 2022 with a small group. 1) Restaurant had plain notices saying price have gone up with no suggestion of additional mark up value or menus have not been updated. 2) Ordered food from menu provided with prices assuming those are changed prices. When the bill is served there is a difference of £48 from the menu price. Expected final bill around £90.00 new bill £138.00 Example: Mixed grill- menu price £11.99 receipt price £16.99 10 Poppadum - £0.50 menu price receipt price £0.60 On inquiring was told the prices have gone up angrily with owner in complete confrontation mode. Paid in full with no argument whatsoever. No issues with price change/increase? is it not necessary to change price on printed menu? Even with pen, if needed. What will happen to a family who has come with a fixed budget and ordered from menu thinking those are correct prices. How is she/he going to fund the difference without any argument/spoiling her/his evening. Please avoid this restaurant, complete fraud and ready to confront aggressively - The Owner is a complete idiot with no manners to speak. AVOID- Lots of local Asian restaurants with much better customer service and tasty food.
