Would 100% recommend this Italian restaurant, after being recommended by a friend we arrived and noticed it is bookings only. We spoken to a lovely lady at the door who lucky managed to squeeze us in after a reservation didn’t turn up. Food and the atmosphere was 10/10 and could not fault anything, staff were lovely. Having autism and ADHD can be difficult to go to new places, especially trying new food but I left feeling at ease. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Very much appreciated

Really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. It’s £35 for 6-7 courses and it’s bring your own ale so you can bring the best ale and wine. Experience got finished around 2130hrs for us. Would recommend the experience

This really is a secret gem in Barnsley. A small but very friendly atmosphere, great host and absolutely delicous food. Would highly recommend you book now as they book up months in advance!

I heard about this little place from a relative, he suggested a visit. So we went in, astounding! The food was all freshly prepared, wonderful, authentic Italian, I have traveled Italy from the top to bottom, it took Me back. I will definitely be returning. You definitely need a big appetite! Margaret and her Team are so very welcoming. Give it a go.

Me and my partner were lucky enough to get a cancellation. I'd heard about it and read the reviews so we were looking forward to it and we were not disappointed! My partner is a vegetarian and it's a set menu so he was a bit apprehensive. However, he enjoyed every single dish and so did I...could not fault anything! The dessert is a Tiramisu and I've never been a fan but I have to say that was one of the best desserts I've ever had! The service was outstanding from start to finish, especially Jana who cooked and spoke to every customer in between...she is amazing!

We visited for the first time this evening 13/10/22 it was a delightful experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, anything you couldn’t finish was offered to be boxed up for taking home, a special touch I thought. The cost of the entire meal was great value considering the many courses. The service was spot on, both chef and waitress were very pleasant and took time to interact with the customers. It is a small cosy place off the beaten track, hence the name secret Italian. We have booked again for my birthday in January and I can’t wait. Thank you for an extremely pleasant evening ladies. Enjoyable family meal out, a very cosy (little) restaurant, friendly staff. Did feel a little underwhelmed by the main dish which was 2 chicken thighs, some potatoes and broccoli, feel like this is the main part of the menu that could be improved. Felt like it needed an accompaniment such as a sauce or something.

Our first time here and what a gem of a restaurant, the Valentine's menu was delicious, 6 starters before the main meal and then the desserts. All the food had so many flavours, we were Absolutely stuffed. You won't be disappointed with this Italian. Margaret and Jana are so welcoming. Many thanks Chris & Allison.
