This restaurant used to be one of the best Indian restaurants in Essex, but since coming under new management it has gone completely downhill. The staff were unfriendly, we were seated at a dirty table, and given sticky menus and grubby glasses. The poppadom salad was mashed and clearly not fresh, and the yogurt sauce was off. My partner’s main arrived long before mine and was lukewarm. My chicken korma eventually arrived with only four small pieces of chicken and was barely warm. The onion bhajis were clearly reheated and mushy. Most of the staff, including the manager, were rude, and no one checked on us during the meal. The only hot thing was the towels with the bill. We paid and left having hardly touched the food. Very disappointing.

Firstly food was delivered cold considering the restaurant is 3minutes from my home this was my first disappointment, but I have a microwave and didn’t want to be a complainer.. then I dish and taste the food which was most certainly not what I had ordered a hour before hand my food was bland flavourless and filled with lemon and had a sweet sauce the dish was meant to be spicy I called the restaurant to ask them to correct this as I had spent almost £50 and I was verbally attacked being told this was their own ‘version’ of the curry and if I want it to be spicy I should eat the separate chilli’s provided absolutely disgusting customer service I will never order from here again and will go above and beyond to be sure everyone local is well aware of this un authentic flavourless establishment. Shame on you. Next step is to upload the video of our phone conversation work on your customer service skills after you learn to send the correct food to hard working paying people. Thanks.

I went to Zaafran yesterday and it was one of the best Indian dining experiences. All the food was hot and fresh and packed with flavour, from the starters to the main. The staff were great and attentive at all times. The really recommend this restaurant and I can’t wait to come back again.

Ordered a meal on the day my mother in law died (23rd Dec). It arrived 40 mins after scheduled time and was nearly all stone cold. We were all exhausted after the day we had had and so could not be asked to complain that day and most of it went in the bin. We spoke to the restaurant and were told we had to go to deliveroo as we ordered through them. They have taken months to deal with this and we were offered a £14 refund of an order over £110 and which 3/4 of the food was cold. Told by the restaurant that our complaint was with deliveroo not them!! Avoid as clearly they don't care about their customers and are happy to have customers wait hours for a cold meal!!!

I’ve always recommended as a 5* but tonight the chefs special beef was well under-par. Meat was tough and chewy even when each cube was cut into smaller pieces. It normally breaks down into the sauce and is a masterpiece - sadly not tonight

Very delicious food and service. Also provides Wine and Beer which is a plus. Perfect for a night out or hanging with friends and family. They also do booking as well so you can reserve your own space.
