Authentic and super delicious sushi at Yakimono restaurant in Epping. Lovely staff, cosy ambience and amazing sake! Must visit if you like your sushi.

Lovely experience!! The service was easily one of the best I’ve had in London - the staff were friendly and attentive, very welcoming! The store also does capture the essence of a Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious with a great variety to choose from, there’s definitely care and thoughts put into it. Tempura and sashimi were delicate, grill mushroom and mushroom croquettes are surprised us, they’re both satisfying to have!
It was our first time visiting the place, and while the meal itself was enjoyable, we were quite surprised—and honestly a bit unsettled—to discover afterward that the establishment has a hygiene rating of 1 out of 6 (on a 0–5 scale). For summary: Hygiene Rating 1/6 (0–5 Scale): In many countries like the UK, food hygiene is rated by environmental health officers using the Food Standards Agency (FSA) scale: 5 – Very good 4 – Good 3 – Generally satisfactory 2 – Improvement necessary 1 – Major improvement necessary 0 – Urgent improvement required A rating of 1 suggests significant issues with food handling, cleanliness, record-keeping, or structural conditions that could pose risks to health. Not sure we will return, unless a more recent inspection is carried out. Friendly front of house staff. Service was good.
We have been on Sunday. The food is really good , staff friendly and good service , my son really enjoy time . We will go again .
First time here, thought I'd give it a try for lunch and had the following: matcha tea, chicken bao, miso soup and chicken katsu donburi. Overall, service was welcoming and friendly and food came quickly, but maybe too quickly, as I was a little disappointed with the flavours (bao a little dry and lukewarm, tea flavourless and miso soup very salty), however, the chicken katsu was pretty nice. Would give them the benefit of the doubt and return to try the sushi :)
All food was made fresh to order and everything was absolutely delicious. I haven’t had Japanese food like this in a while. The staff were very attentive and friendly as well. Overall our experience was excellent and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
