I've been going to Akash for more than 30 years, on and off. Many of Akash customers are like me and some of them have been going there for even more years! So you can see my review is long overdue! It's a small, simple local restaurant which serves residents and tourists alike. I was scared it wouldn't survive the lockdown and be forced to close as so many restaurants have! But this humble Indian restaurant has thankfully managed to survive! It has been overseen by a dignified and debonair gentleman who has known his customers throughout the years. His service is impeccable and his welcome couldn't be warmer and he carries on being ageless!! The chef has also been there for years and manages to turn out deliciously, tasty dishes from a small back kitchen separated from the restaurant by nothing more than a kitchen. Last night I was there having worked late and I ordered a lamb sag which had just the right spice and texture and really proved to be moreish! The cauliflower bhaji was just how I like it. Gently spiced and not greasy or oily at all! The cucumber raita was a perfect accompaniment and the chapati are to die for if you don't like nann which I don't! I had the house red which was a smooth merlot and very drinkable. I would without hesitation recommend this small local Indian gem to residents and visitors alike!!

Food is actually very good, speedy deliveryβ¦tasty, good quality and fairly priced for the most part, or so I thought. Because the quantity of the portions was very much on the stingy side of things really. I thought it would be enough to share or have leftovers for the following day but alas I was sorely mistaken. Itβs a bit of a shame because of it wasnβt for that Iβd order again without second thoughts.

Couldnβt have picked a better place for a delicious, filling, authentic curry meal for our first night in London. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We did not know this was a BYOB establishment, and when he realized that weβd wished we had known that, he told us to run next door and buy some beers from Aldi - and he saved the table for us! We are Americans and did not know how to properly eat our prawn puri appetizer, so he comically showed us the way. Food was 10/10 delicious. We cleaned our plates - which is rare for us. Maybe we were just hungry from the long day of travel, but I think there is something very special about this place. You will not be disappointed if you visit Akash!

Received my order within 30 mins as said over the phone, only to find two orders missing. Called about the order missing, which they responded quickly to send over, and had to pay another Β£8 for an order we were already charged for. Also they donβt use card.

Great dining experience for dinner. You can bring your own wine and/or beer (large Grocery store next door - convenient) and choose from a large selection of dishes. Service, food and cleanliness are all quality. One of my favorite little spots for dinner in London. Dinner with multiple curries, rice, naan, and papadams was Β£30.

Heck yes! Tasty, fresh and distinct. Had a few things Iβd never heard of before and quickly felt the satisfaction of a good decision. The absence of Roti bread on the menu caused a momentary eyebrow movement however, the other choices were adequate. Oil content of the breads is marginally on the high side in a delicious kind way but might be a deal breaker for those with gallbladder issues or crazy strict diets. An un-regrettable solution for a cold and gloomy hunger!
