   I visited for the first time today, and from the outside I had no idea this place was even open. It’s a lovely little store. I was looking for something to eat and The Village Kitchen just seemed to appear out of nowhere — and I’m glad it did! I ordered a chicken tikka panini (£4.95), a can of Coke Zero (£1.25), and a Christmas cookie (£1.50). The location really works, especially with how expensive local restaurants are and the fact there aren’t any proper cafés nearby. I was genuinely pleased to find somewhere affordable to eat. I sat outside with my dogs and enjoyed my food. I’ll definitely be coming back. I just wish they were open longer hours — currently 7am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday.

   Today I was given a lamb samosa labelled as a vegetarian samosa . I am a vegetarian so I had a couple of bites of this. As I knew something was not right I returned this and though the person at the till was apologetic and gave me a vegetarian samosa I don’t believe they realised that offering a meat based product to a person who does not consume meat is not good practice. I was not even offered the food free of charge . I think the established should take more care. Imagine if I had been a very strict vegetarian for religious reasons ….

   Popped in here for a bite to eat for lunch as I was in the area. First time I've eaten here and didn't know what to expect. The coronation chicken salad was good. I really enjoyed the coronation sauce. My friend had the pulled pork wrap and he said it was tasty and liked the mustard on it. The strawberry milkshake was delicious. A good quality milkshake. This place appears to be a busy deli shop for the local businesses. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast. Good selection of food to choose from. You can either do takeaway or they have limited seating inside and more seating outside on a quiet street.

   I was disappointed with Village Kitchen. A small operation and the service was unusual. They don’t make the sandwiches in front of you like most sandwich places i’ve visited, so you can’t tell them how much of something to add. The pricing structure is inconsistent and they charge extra for salads. The interior is very small and only seats 4 people but there is outdoor seating. But usually people opt for take away here. Small sandwiches and barely any filling. Very disappointing. I was still hungry after eating a sandwich. Taste was okay but nothing revolutionary. Decent for a quick bite to eat if you are unable to make your own sandwich. But overpriced for the quality you get.

   come here regularly for my lunch at work. great service, super friendly staff and beautiful food. I’ve tried everything from a jacket potato with various toppings to the burritos to the sfc wrap. Reasonably priced too and a great selection of drinks, crisps, cakes and chocolate too. Thank you :)

   This is place to be on a sunny day when the Edgbaston Artisan Market is in full swing. There is an abundance of sheltered outdoor seating to enjoy a range of sandwiches, pastries and hot drinks.
