Disappointing experience β not worth the hype Went here on Pujo weekend after having already tried Chourangi, and honestly, I was underwhelmed after looking forward to it for so long. The menu isnβt entirely Bengali β why are there so many toastie options? The kosha mangsho was under-seasoned and had an odd stench. The prawn malaikari was decent but nothing special. The parathas felt amateur β Bengalis make far better ones at home. The most disappointing dish was the papri chaat: only five papris with minimal toppings and what tasted like store-bought tamarind chutney. It looked sad and tasted worse β the least wholesome version of papri chaat Iβve ever had. The bhapa doi portion was also tiny, lacking the richness and generosity the dish deserves. Overall, the menu missed key Bengali classics, and the whole experience lacked authenticity β especially after all the storytelling and media coverage. The back of the menu claims to serve food that βtouches your soul,β but unfortunately, they broke that promise. Iβd pick Chourangi over this any day. As a proud Bengali, itβs disheartening to see our food misrepresented in taste, texture, and abundance. Our mothers work too hard in their kitchens for there to be a world where people pay this much for such mediocre Bengali food.

Every time Iβm in London, I have to come to eat at Darjeeling Express. Truly the best Indian food Iβve ever had. You can smell the deliciousness as you approach the restaurant. The service is attentive and warm. Our server Priya was so sweet! She offered to let me take my cocktail to-go, since I was so full! Each dish is made with care and packs incredible flavor. Do not skip this place!!

Was expecting a good selection of food chose after watching the sky program on the restaurant. Only got to try one from what we saw on tv. Not a big chose on the menu. Food was good though from what we had. Almost like home made. No big lumps of chicken like you get from most Indian restaurants which was a pleasant surprise. Will try again in a few months when I hope they will have a new menu.

The prawn appetizer was absolutely spectacular, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. For our mains we had the mutton and prawns and both were just as delicious, rich, comforting, and beautifully spiced. The service was wonderful too, warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. I would go back in a heartbeat and canβt wait to try more dishes next time.

Best Indian restaurant in London. I have been here multiple times and never had a bad meal; itβs worth waiting months for a reservation! They only offer the a la carte menu at lunch, and at dinner they have a set Thali menu for Β£55pp which is expensive, but I consider it good value as the quality is top notch and you get a lot of variety. If you like Indian food, Iβd highly recommend dining here.

Wonderful dinner experience here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The menu is mostly set but you can select your entree. We had the methi chicken and prawns malaikari, plus you get a number of sides and dessert. Everything was delicious. Great flavors and spice throughout the meal. Very reasonably priced. I would certainly come back!

Beautiful new space, great service and inviting atmosphere. Had the pleasure to experience βsupper clubβ during my stay in London. Wonderfully surprised that she (Asma) was a part of the experience. Food was delicious and made with lots of love. However, only recommendation is for a better/unique alternative for vegetarians (and dairy free as well) for the main course (not amazing to be eating just some veggies mixed in a ton of rice) - I was def still hungry.

Very nice evening. I had the royal thali, which was a bit too much food for me, but I enjoyed the small dishes letting me try a bit of everything. Food was solid but most dishes were not especially memorable (the yellow dhaal was unusually good and the desserts were pretty special). Service was attentive but a little unpolished. Overall worth a visit but nothing exceptional.

This food is sublime, humble, sophisticated. Takes you to places you had never been to. Itβs an adventure, a journey, a delight to the senses. What a huge honour to be here. For me, chefs have always been like rockstars. Much respect to them. They elevate one of the aspects anthropologists say makes us truly human: the art of cooking food. 100 of of 10!!! This is the first time in my life I have been emotionally touched by food. I even cried. I talked to the staff and told them this had been the greatest experience and they were so kind and happy to hear it
