Hands Shoe Shop has now closed down on the A6. Clarkson in Stockport precinct next best Shop for children's school shoes holiday sandals and trainers. Always get children's feet measured age 2 until 13 as feet are all different. So cheaper 1 size fits all cheaper shoes n trainers may cause foot problems for many children.

Great service and helpful staff. Karen was absolutely brilliant, also Michelle. Great information given, didn’t have any shoes for our little girl today but didn’t force a sale in the slightest. Advised on the best shoes to get and brilliant service, would definitely recommend!

Went to get my little girl's feet measured. I usually live in Leeds so I wanted a proper shoe shop to measure her feet whilst temporarily located in Manchester. The shop measured her feet using both Clark's and Start Rite measures. I did feel as though the staff member was being quite judgemental with the shoes my little girl had on (that we had had fitted in a proper Leeds shoe shop) because they weren't a brand they sold in Hands. I wouldn't go back personally. The service was helpful in that i know my daughter's foot size though. There's no parking so I had to park down a side street.

Sadly after over 30 years of taking family here the customer service and quality of shoes sold to us was so bad we will be going elsewhere in future. Hands chose to gaslight rather than uphold our statutory rights. Thankfully manufacturers agreed with our assessment of the fault.

Nice little shoe shop for all your Childrens need. I have been getting school shoes for my girls for the last few years and have been very happy with the service and shoes provided. Staffs were friendly and never too much trouble! Highly recommend.

I have used 'Hands' for the last 6 years for my 2 children. I have always received friendly, professional and caring service. Due to COVID, the appointment system works incredibly well so that there are no waiting times and you get a much quieter, personal service within the shop. Thank you for my recent experience purchasing my little boys first school shoes, they endeavoured to find the best fit for him! Thank you!

Terrible experience! They were polite on the phone but once in the shop staff were dismissive and unkind. My child and myself left both in floods of tears and with no shoes. My daughters feet are unusually wide and very difficult to find shoes for, so I called ahead and explained the situation. Spoke to a kind woman who said that they would book me in with one of their senior shop personel who has a lot of expertise, that we shouldnt worry because there are no awkward feet, just the wrong shoes. However when we arrived, they couldn't find us in their appointment book (appointment booked two says ago!). We were seen by a young teen who of course didnt have the experience necessary. He repeatedly heaved huge sighs, told my daughter she would just have to wear very long shoes or ask the school to overlook her lack of school shoes. When I said that is not an option due to problems with her ankles, he said he would ask for help from other staff. I said yes please, I was told when I booked the appointment that it was with a senior member of staff who is very experienced, I am sorry that we've caused you trouble. I hope you arent offended or discouraged, and he said no, not at all. Another member of staff then came over, sat down and told me I had been very rude! When I asked how and tried to explain the misunderstanding she shouted at me and told me to be quiet and be thankful she was now there. Then she said that she was done and walked out the back of the shop. I am genuinely unsure how I could have been more polite or tactful. I didn't at any point complain, criticise anyone, raise my voice, or use innapropriate language. My daughter is now crying and apologising for having "bad feet". I am heartbroken for my child and very confused and upset. Was hoping that if no suitable shoes were in stock we might order some as offered on their website. However, it is now very clear that the service offered on the website bears no resemblance to that offered instore.

Excellent service as always. Greated very professionally by staff, and warned we would have a short wait due to being a member of staff down. The wait was only short and the staff member did all she could to minimise our wait. The service in preparing the shoes was very professional and they did all that they could to keep it covid secure. We have used Hands for years and have always found the staff members professional and knowledgeable, there is no pressure sales it is all about making sure that the shoe is right for the child. Customer service is key and this is something that always differentiates Hands from other stores, the customer is key and they make sure there is a no rush service. For a local business they really know their customer base and know what the schools allpw and disallow. I can highly recomend Hands.
