Superb food in the centre of Birmingham. A short walk from the Bull Ring and near the Hippodrome, you will find a restaurant offering great Chinese food, but more importantly real Malaysian food! Try it, it’s the best food around, Hor Fun, Laksa, Hainan Chicken, all beautiful foods to be taken very seriously as worlds best.

I ordered two dishes. Both tastes good. Just a bit out of expectation that the hainanese chicken isn’t as tender and juicy as I used to have in Asia. Overall good food !

Amazing service, very friendly staff and can make helpful recommendations. Three visits in one week, so food is definitely great and authentic to its origin too. Portion sizes are also good, with tasty desserts to finish off!

Malaysian Delight has always been my favourite Malaysian restaurant in Birmingham before Malaya Classic opened. In addition to their excellent Malaysian cuisine, their Cantonese dishes are also outstanding, such as the roast meats. Their laksa is delicious too. We had a larger group today, so we ordered several small dishes to share, some of which I hadn't tried before, like the braised platter. It would have been even better if it came with vinegar. Everything else was consistently good, and the service at this restaurant is exceptional - polite and attentive waitstaff. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place for Asian food, price is about mid-high. Service is friendly and quick. It Feels like a cafe more than a restaurant, but the restaurant prices. We had the Hokkien noodles- usually is delicious, but I think the chef was having an off day today. We also had the beancurd and aubergine clay pot, it was delicious, and the three roast meat dish. There wasn’t much meat on the plate for the price, vs the price you can get from their competitors. But overall, we come here often and really enjoy it. Located about 10 mins from bull ring centre, street parking available nearby and can order as take-out. However they only accept cash, so prepare before going

Malaysian Delight is quiet and homey with a fast turnaround serving the classics. We did a pit-stop for dinner in Birmingham on our drive back. Roast duck, crispy pork belly, char kway teow and Hainanese chicken rice is what we ordered. The chicken rice came with a clear broth which I'm not accustomed to seeing but was informed this is how it's usually given. It doesn't have much flavour so not sure what to make of it. The meat just slides down your throat and the ginger scallion sauce enhances its taste. Pork belly had the juicy flesh with crispy skin. And the roast duck was decent. Expect quick service and bring cash at this casual restaurant.

I've had takeaway from Malaysian delight a number of times, but until recently I'd never eaten in. Also until recently I'd only ever tried Nyonya Fried Rice, absolutely fantastic mix of satisfyingly big bits of chicken, juicy king prawn, Mango and other bits and bobs which keeps me going back. This time my partner decided to order Char siu and roast duck with rice, this dish was awful, such a disappointing contrast to my usual dish. To its credit, the rice was tasty, but that's the only positive thing that can be said about it, well, that and I think it actually looked deceptively tasty; the pork was all 100% pure fat, and sweeter than candyfloss, and the duck was just a disappointment. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service is as fast as you'd want it to be. I've awarded 4 stars because one bad dish on one occasion doesn't make a bad restaurant, the decor is nice and the staff and the service are good, I'd just recommend others not order that particular dish. Likewise next time we too will choose something else, and we will be returning, because I can't stress enough how tasty the Nyonya Fried Rice is
