Atmosphere is nice in the pub side and service is friendly for a pint. Food at Kanchana’s was fair but not my favourite Thai, I will not be coming back as we were given an hour to eat even before sitting, all tables are ‘reserved’ before they are sitting you down, they are already telling you to rush and leave in an hour. Which is I think very little time for eating. Portions are fair but in my view they are pricey for the taste and over all in general.

Hidden kitchen out the back of a busy pub, my colleague had recommended. Even though it was busy and we couldn't book, we didn't have to wait for a table and we got seated quickly, though on uncomfortable stools. We barely had chance to look at the menu before we were asked to order, also noting we had yet to get to the bar to order drinks. We ordered the mixed platter which was good value and a great selection, and though the portion size of my chicken pad Thai was enormous, I found it far too sweet and couldn't eat it. Nothing wrong with the dish, just personal preference. Additionally all out main courses came out at different times which we weren't aware of so our table of 6 ate at different times. I would still recommend, but probably wouldn't visit again myself.

Such an amazing discovery in a beautiful unspoilt London street. Hidden at the back of a very jolly crowded pub a short walk from Waterloo Station. We tried earlier to call and book a table, but no answer. But we tried our luck anyway. And so pleased we did. All tables were reserved but the staff kindly squeezed us in for an hour, which proved just enough to savour a starter and main. Full of real, happy people, such an amazing and warm vibe. Food was beautiful and service excellent. So grateful for our experience. Thank you team!

Best Pad Thai in London!! Family owned restaurant attached to the back of a typical British pub. Lovely food! Nice environment. Only thing is you got only an hour at the table but they are quick bringing the food, and you can always enjoy an after dinner drink at the pub instead.

The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely it was rather crowded after work hours and it certainly took me a minute to find the restaurant through the pub but it was definitely worth the effort I’m from the US and I live in California which has a lot of great Thai food and this place was surprisingly good. I had a great time everyone was very friendly and I had a wonderful chat with the person next to me at the counter, overall wonderful atmosphere and delicious food!

I enjoyed the green curry 5/5. Pad thai was quite good 4/5 The other dish was quite unmemorable I don’t even remember the name La Customer service was quite abysmal. The waiters were quite nice but the manager was very cold and dismissive to our requests. The seating was quite terrible and no back support! Id come only for the green curry! The bar staff are wayy nicer!

We possibly made the mistake of turning up to the restaurant after working hours on a Thursday night and the pub - the Kings Arms - was pumping with every inch taken with people drinking and socialising on their way home from work. Squeezing our way into the atmospheric room at the back where the Thai restaurant was located, we were able to secure a couple of stools at a dark bench. The menu was hard to read in this light, but we were able to select a couple of dishes - a stir fry and a massaman curry, both of which arrived quite quickly, both served with side of rice. The dishes were OK - dumbed down thai for English palates no doubt, without any of the complexity of flavours and heat that we are used to from the wealth of offerings in Australia. Service was fine under the most difficult of circumstances, and it would be interesting to see how it was under somewhat calmer circumstances. Others were certainly enjoying themselves and it was popular!

Delicious Thai food in London! Coming from California, where we have an abundance of very traditional and non-traditional Thai food, I was extremely pleased with the food at Kanchana’s. Super fresh ingredients, great flavor, and very nice, casual ambiance. The woman serving us was also very kind. Will definitely be coming back the next time I’m visiting London!

Hidden gem. Great Thai food, unexpectedly. Set in a very old London residential area, but so central next to Waterloo Station. Adjoins a pub (although feels like they are run as two separate entities). Excellent traditional Thai food! Will definitely be back.
