I financed a large volume of cabinets as part of the renovations of a healthcare clinic. Unfortunately there was an error with the details on the invoice and Howdens were unwilling despite previous reassurances to correct this. This resulted in an enormous amount of unnecessary stress and the renegotiation of a finance policy leaving me out of pocket and a potential negative strike in terms of credit. I would avoid this company, one of the least helpful and unnecessarily stressful consumer experiences I have ever had, particularly given the volume purchased.
No samples showroom like in Wythenshawe at all. Big branch or more like warehouse. No pleasant service like: no bothered they will pay me anyway. And what is the worst the lady repeats my sentence each of time like to teach me her imaginary accent, Discrimination. Just pathetic. Shame on you. Never will come back. Will buy in friendly Wythenshawe branch that I love cause the sales/manager customer approach attitude.
I recently had a disappointing experience with Howdens in Altrincham. I was looking for an in-frame utility to match my kitchen, and one of their designers introduced me to the Elmbridge range, assuring me that it was in-frame and the closest match to my kitchen. Eager to achieve a seamless look in my kitchen, I was willing to pay a premium over my budget for the Elmbridge range. What's even more frustrating is that before I made the purchase, the manager was incredibly keen and attentive, promising top-notch service. However, my disappointment knew no bounds when the furniture was finally fitted, only to discover that it was not in-frame as promised. I reached out to Howdens Altrincham and spoke to the manager, John Worthington, about the issue. Unfortunately, they showed little interest in rectifying the situation. Despite promises of a call back, I was left in the lurch. This kind of attitude implies that they care more about making sales than ensuring customer satisfaction. In the end, I paid a significant amount for a utility that failed to match my kitchen, and the complete shift in attitude from the manager after the sale has left me thoroughly disappointed. I would not recommend Howdens Altrincham based on my experience.
Chris at Howdens was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. His wealth of knowledge and guidance ensured we picked the right kitchen to suit our needs. We made many changes throughout the process but it was never too much to trouble to show us how our thoughts might look until we made our final decision. He also made the required visits to our extension during the build to make sure the design would fit or make any necessary adjustments. This is important as the end result could have been hindered. A very relaxed process all the way through which put us at ease and we knew that we had made the right choice in choosing Chris and Howdens. The kitchen came when required, with nothing missing and damage free. I would certainly recommend Chris and Howdens in the future!
We found the staff very helpful and kitchen is perfect for us.Unfortunately it wasn't explained to us that we would need a special socket for the new cooker so when it was switched on it blew the fuse and we now find ourselves 5 days before Christmas with no working oven and nobody will accept responsibility and we are now 3 weeks without an oven.Obviously this has put a real dampner on what should have been a happier experience for us.

I bought a quality kitchen from Howdens via my builders, who say they have seen £30`000 kitchens that dont look as good as the one Howdens supplied to me. I also bought a hot water boiling unit for the kitchen tap,save having a kettle. 4 months later The boiling unit decided to stop working. Not because of quality, but just unfortunately one of those acts of god. After numerous attempts to get in touch with the company who made the units customer service to no avail via phone or e-mail ,I contacted Howdens Altrincham,and spoke with one of their staff called Dianne.I can only say what a refreshing change to speak with someone who genuinely cares about the company she works for, and the customers. Her help was outstanding,taking it upon herself to try and contact the company from her end,and then kept me updated as she promised by telephone. The end result was she couldnt contact them either,so arranged for Howdens to replace the boiler unit,which i was extremely grateful for, after my earlier frustrations over a few days,and also offered to pay for the plumber required to re-fit the unit. I can only say what an outstanding employee Howdens have. I think Dianne has been there about 20 years,and still offers outstanding first class customer service and care which I saw on display with other customers she was serving when I visited the company. Great company,Great quality products,and importantly great easy to communicate with caring staff . Thank again. Chris May.
Bought my new kitchen 15 months ago from Alrincham branch but fitted privately. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Nothing was too much trouble for John Purple who designed my kitchen. Last week the integral washing machine packed up, contacted the branch who were so helpful in getting it repaired within 3 days. Thanks to Diane for sorting it so quickly.
