I came in school time so it was practically empty. The food was really nice. I would recommend the classic lasagne, dough balls, buttermilk chicken and the American. The service was fast and it wasn't loud.
The food was definitely not as good as the other pizza expresses we have visited, not worth the high price point at all. Our dessert came with the wrong sauce so I asked the manager if it could be replaced with the right one. Midway through asking, another manager completely cut me off and started speaking to the manager I was originally talking to. I looked at her as I was confused as to what was going on and she gave me a rude reply. I then asked again for the sauce as I wasn't sure if he had heard me and was again met with a rude reply. Would avoid this pizza express if you can!
I had a great experience! Luckly when we got there the restaurant was not crowded so it felt very intimate ans cozy. We were provided with an outstanding service! We were 13 people so imagine the trouble of getting so many orders?! Marco and Servo couldn't be better. They really made us feel at home. High level service from the whole team actually. We had no trouble with what each one of us ordered. And the payment was really facilitated even tho we were a big group. I will definitely schedule my next group celebrations here. I do like pizza express mostly because it is consistently good. However, this is the most average branch I have been to. I have been to a lot. It's OK. Service was friendly but glacially slow. The pizza - the worst I have had at a pizza express. I had a fungi and it had maybe 2 mushrooms on it and the base was awful. They didn't have the cheesecake. So i will still go to pizza express- i just wont come to this one.
Love Pizza Express, delicious pizzas, good selection of starters, mains and sides and extensive wine. That said the service at this branch was so unbelievable slow! 10 minutes from seating to getting the menu, 10 further minutes to order then repay again for desert! Cant understand why restaurants such as PE can’t get this right! Restaurant was only a fifth occupied but the service whilst pleasant and professional was so painfully slow!
Horrific service! Actually shocked by how aggressive and rude the Brazilian server is. I’m heavily pregnant and wanted to get something to eat with my elderly mother. This man was obnoxious to the extreme, so that we left mid-meal. He should be on the police register as verbally abusive to women.
I am a regular customer, and their customer service never fails to surprise me. Fantastic customer service from the whole team! Especially Marco, Servo, Sofiano, Chris and another kind lady that took our order (apologies I didn’t manage to get her name). They made sure everything was all right, lovely to speak to, and offered to help when they saw we were struggling to cut the pizza xD, super attentive, the list is endless!!! I will definitely dine here again. Worth every penny!
My next excursion on the Pizza Express Challenge took me to the Balham branch. This was a stylish restaurant with an interesting layout, including a smaller section at the front with a larger room at the back. The smaller section, where our table was situated, hosts an impressive looking bar. It was marvellous to be joined by five friends from St. Giles for a Saturday soiree. Quality of food: 17/20 A fine Pollo Pesto with no mushrooms with a satisfying proportion of cheese and chicken! Staff friendliness and efficiency: 15/20 This is clearly a busy and popular branch and although it took a little time to be served the staff were very efficient. Cleanliness: 17/20 The restaurant was busy with lots of children but it appeared to be clean and well-looked after. Atmosphere: 17/20 I liked the illuminated entrance and the bar added a pleasant looking central section to the restaurant. Overall enjoyment: 17/20 Final Score: 83/100 (A) Excellent
Food good, attentive bad. Had to call sever to order, many times, the restaurant needs an overhaul, the seat I sat in had duck tape keeping it together......really! The toilets were dirty.. no place to put your bag toilet paper over the floor, come on Pizzeria fix up. The staff are fab.
Wonderful pizza place with tons of gluten free options! I always eat here when I’m in London. The Diavolo is incredible and spicy. Today I found out they also offer Gluten Free Dough Balls! Wha?!!! The staff knows gluten free dining well and everything comes out on black plates indicating they are gluten free. Thanks for a great experience.
