We were extremely disappointed with our recent order where we ordered mini pastries half of them were not even the correct size. One full size pastry was priced at £1.60 and the owner would give us the mini ones that weren’t even half of the size for £1 to then have received some that weren’t even full size of the mini offering They were undone And done with no care at all. The service in the shop was no better. We will looked at and not dealt with in the correct way when we wanted to make a big order we will never purchase from these guys again extremely disappointed and super expensive. Avoid at all costs so many other businesses that treat their customers better.

State Fayre's business model is basically "ignore the customer, stare at your phone and never, EVER say "hello", "please" or "thank you". The first time, I assumed they're having a bad day because no-one is usually that needlessly rude, gave them benefit of the doubt and wrongly assumed they'd be less aloof/rude next time. Big mistake! They are consistently abrasive, rude, and mannerless in how they speak to customers and it honestly felt like I'd been grifted when I'd made the mistake of purchasing anything here; it seems verboten for them to be friendly, welcoming and kind to customers. Marc Cooper or Brackman's in Prestwich are much better with lovely friendly staff and really nice food. State Fayre's prices have pretty much doubled in the last couple of years as well, which although understandable in the economic climate, doesn't make it any more appealing when paired with the mandatory side order of bad-attitude. Zero stars isn't an option, so they get one for the dubious achievement of managing to remain operational as a business whilst maintaining such consistently dreadful customer service.

Called in for lunch today and it was delicious! Gorgeous bagels and lovely soup. The croutons were especially good. The cafe itself is warm, bright and cosy. The only slight shame was that although the service was really warm and friendly, the orders got a bit muddled and that seemed to cause the kitchen to run very slow.

Visited today and couldn't have found the 2 ladies any nicer than what they were. Really friendly and chatty and the bagel was amazing as was the coffee. Was staying at a friend's for a week and kept meaning to pop in as it had been recommended. Glad I finally did

Use to love this place till they hired an arrogant boy who works there often. Quality of products gone down hill especially the rock solid creme cheese :( Not returning again as found a better option that's also local. They don't seem to want to resolve it as never reply to customers unless it's about parking

Won’t go again. Frozen cream cheese from the fridge the week before ( went in today to buy goods not to complain) however arrogant and cocky staff refused to sell me one of the 50 small pots in the counter as they were only for the deal even when there were none left in the regular fridge. I Explained then about previous problem but he still refused to sell. Staff words were that the cheese was frozen previously as we had a freezer malfunction and that I should have been made aware which I wasn’t. Also another member of staff said what would you like me to do about it. I said sell me a small tub as there was none in the fridge. Refused again so I said ok but I won’t return. Could have been so easily sorted but complete lack of customer service.
