    Since the new chef Alecia started running the kitchen, the food has transformed. Every dish shows her passion and talent — the flavours, the presentation, everything has stepped up massively. We’re local and eat here often, so we’ve really noticed the difference. Tonight we finished every last bite, and now we’re excited to come back and try the Sunday roast. And credit to the bar staff too — they’re always on point, friendly, and quick. Absolutely recommend the food — it’s on another level now.

    We've been to The Grapes several times before for drinks &/or food, over recent years, & it's always been lovely & great value all round. However, we booked a table 2 weeks ago, for Halloween only to discover when we arrived that the chef had left for the evening, due to no reservation being in the diary. Really disappointing, especially as it was a treat for my elderly Auntie, who has recently recovered from a bout of ill health. The 2 stars are for the girls behind the bar, who handled the situation well, & apologised several times for the mistake.

    Went in to the pub for coffee and buffet after a family funeral. Young staff were attentive to the families needs. Clean bar area that became busy as the time was getting on. Popular bar.
