   Stayed here recently for a work trip and will definitely be returning. The rooms were spotless, very spacious, and the shower was hot and powerful. Plenty of parking on-site and the location is ideal for travel. The restaurant was excellent too, with friendly, welcoming staff and great food. I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended.

   We visited your pub on 14 December 2025. I would like to note that this visit has become a yearly tradition for our family, as we also visited three years previously on the same date. This occasion is particularly significant to us, as it is one of the few opportunities we have each year to see a family member, and it also coincides with a time of remembrance following a bereavement. We had a table booked for 12:00 for a party of ten. After approximately one hour and forty-five minutes, a member of the bar staff approached us and informed us that we would need to vacate the table within the next 20–30 minutes. At that point, we were all still enjoying our drinks and spending time together as a family. In the past three years, we have never experienced any issues during our visits, nor have we ever been asked to leave a pub in this manner. I would understand this request if other guests had been waiting for tables; however, approximately half of the pub was empty at the time. I found this situation both highly unprofessional and extremely disappointing. A further conversation took place with a member of staff wearing a green Christmas jumper. When I asked whether we were required to leave, I was told that we were. I explained that we had travelled over an hour and a half to be there, but his response was dismissive. A few minutes later, he returned and informed us that he had found two alternative tables for us. By this point, however, we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable in your establishment. As a result, we were forced to cut short our time with family during the Christmas period due to the conduct of the staff on duty that Sunday. It is fair to say that our family will not be returning next year. We are deeply disappointed that what should have been a meaningful and respectful occasion was ended so poorly.

   Had a lovely stay including dinner and breakfast. Food was great, we had the roast dinner which was fantastic value for money at £13.95 a head. Breakfast had a good selection of hot food at the buffet. My only, very personal, preference would have been to have more egg options as I didn’t fancy the scrambled eggs and there wasn’t any other option but the rest was delicious and plentiful. Lastly, but definitely not least were the friendly, helpful staff who really made us feel welcome and valued. Highly recommend the Boat & Horses hotel too as the rooms are big, well appointed and the beds really, really comfy. Well worth a stop off.

   We wanted somewhere between family members to meet for my son's birthday. I booked online but could only put 8 people on the booking. I emailed to make sure 10 would be okay and they just changed it. The service and food was incredible. Well done team.

   Nice feel to this locally owned hotel-restaurant. A fairly basic spec but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The bar-restaurant onsite is spacious and comfortable and serves locally brewed Lees cask ales. Breakfast there was also very good. Free parking but don’t forget to register your car as soon as you arrive.

   Lovely lunch menu. Not the cheapest, but nicely cooked, hot, delicious food. Good service. Location is on a very busy junction of M60 which is great for access from said motorway. Costco at same junction with only one way in and out so, at busy times it can be manic. Didn't stay overnight. Worthy of revisit to sample the carvery which, I've heard, is excellent.

   Just got back from a one night stay and it was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean, the staff were extremely helpful. After a long drive up from Bristol it was perfect to pop next door and have a couple of beers. The breakfast was great, they catered for the vegetarians amongst us with no problems. We will definitely be staying here again Thank you

   Despite it being our local pub we have only ever visited sparingly over the years because we have always felt disappointed, and this despite several landlords/landlady's along the way. Very often we have felt ignored whilst waiting at the bar but most significantly the food is invariably a let down and this is why our visits are so sporadic. It's such a shame as it's a lovely building in a great location which serves a wide community that it really should offer better than what it does.
