Spacious pub in the Burnage area of Manchester. Got there about 8pm on a Saturday night. Very busy but still room to be seated. Bar staff were plentiful, efficient and friendly without being over the top or false. The draught Boddingtons was delicious. The toilets were clean and well stocked with soap and toilet roll. The driers worked. ( Not always a given) . There was live music with Kieran Cunningham's Quare Craic. Actor/Musician Kieran is well known for his eclectic mix of traditional and modern ballads ( mainly Irish) served up with heaps of country and western standards. All in all a terrific night out, and a lot of credit for this must go to the landlord and his staff. I've not been to the Vic for around 7/8 years and while it was never a 'bad ' pub, it has been turned into a ' must visit ' pub the next time I'm in Manchester. A big thanks to the staff and to the landlord, especially for the large glass of "pep " to cure my post prandial dyspepsia.

I'm not a regular visitor to the Vic despite living nearby. The pub was revamped a few years ago and the current landlord is a welcoming host who runs a good pub. When I first started drinking here it was a full-on, local Irish pub with good bar staff. Since the revamp they've lost the old school staff and have had a succession of young ones who are not necessarily understanding of the cultural group they're serving. I was in tonight and the pub had an accordion player performing, and a birthday party in progress. Two young bar staff were on duty. The young lad was courteous and interacted well with customers. The young girl was terrible and looked like she would rather be dead than serving the common herd. Sometimes people fall into bar work when it's obviously not their forté? Maybe a career as a traffic warden would be a better option for the young girl, and suit her skill set?

The Vic is a great pub to hang out at, with amazing cheerful staff. Nice tidy clean cozy atmosphere and such friendly fellow drinkers!. Perfect walk home location and safe parking, too. Outside seating to allows you to enjoy the perfect weather we've been having lately. Keep up the great work.
