My wife and I ordered a takeaway and it was great. Great choice of fish dishes, generous portions, and friendly staff. The food was fantastic, the fish starters were really tasty. Both prawn mains were packed with prawns and had a proper chilli kick. The Bombay aloo side dish and chapatis were both lovely too. We had a lovely meal and will return to eat in the restaurant soon. We recommend 100%.

We visited Lal Sher today and were so impressed. The food was absolutely delicious – the curries were hot and full of flavour, just as promised. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. A fantastic meal out, highly recommended!

Visited this venue for the first time tonight. Great idea of a pub first, curry restaurant second. Does not feel like that traditional Indian curry house that I love, like Karachi in Bradford, or that old school red velvet wallpaper with traditional Indian music, but still a lovely place to eat. The service was excellent, quick and attentive. The food is tasty, hot, fresh and filling. The food and drinks were served quickly. It was great for a quick evening meal as we were both hungry, and next time, we will have a few beers first and then wander over for an in-house curry. Definitely worth a trip for some hearty indian food.

Without a doubt the best curry I've had in a long time. Went for the 5 courses for £15 deal and cannot fault it. The starters were delicious - I had the chicken pakoora and my partner the chicken chat puri. Both were superb. Mains were a lamb dish with chili and garlic for me, and a Maducash murg for the Mrs. Again, both were superb. We will be back to dine here again, no doubt about it. Service was second to none - we have been here multiple times now.

First visit and once we got in, the Lal Sher part of the building looks great. The restaurant takes up one side of the Ye Olde Red Lion with the best entrance for it being around the back. The guys serving us were great and on the whole the food was pretty good. Some slightly ropey bits of chicken in my wife's Masala and we all felt it was rather too sweet. I had the chicken special which was really tasty with a little kick of heat but not over powering. Lamb chops and Balti for the other two in the party were also really good. We'll be coming again or at least ordering takeaway. We spent £26 on drinks. Food £80 for four people.
