Been coming to this bar/ pub regularly as I’m constantly waiting for delayed trains and it happens to be in the station. I was quick to find out the staff are all extroverts and will talk to you about anything and make you feel welcome. The drinks are well priced especially for a main train station in central Manchester. If you’re looking for somewhere clean with a good atmosphere and friendly staff be sure to come here. If Sarah happens to be working just know you’re in good hands.

It’s lovely to see this historic station refreshment room come back to life, with its signature stained-glass dome. The ceiling and mosaic wall tiling have been beautifully restored, with lots of natural light coming in through large arched windows (I remember it being dark and dingy back in the 1990s when Manchester Victoria was really run down). A good selection of quality lagers and craft ales. Not much in the way of real ale on draught, but you probably wouldn’t expect that. Bar service is full of friendly smiles and Mancunian love is poured into the drinks. Thank you Sarah and the rest of the team.

The lady at the bar called Sophie was super nice. She got us our drinks (two cokes and a pint of motetti) with manners and a smile. I’ll definitely be back because of her service

Tom and Shirley are great bar keepers. It’s a good spot to wait for your train.

I had the best time in Leeds last couple of days, although my nearly 3 year old was massively out of sorts/ full of cold- especially yesterday. We got 2 trains home, then waited for a taxi. I purposely stopped off at the bar at Manchester Victoria as she needed to eat and for her to be roused awake as she slept. She wasn't happy at all and just wanted to cling on to me, crying as she couldn't tell me what's wrong ( global development delays). I was stuck there, a pram, bags and a very clingy babba who hasn't been walking that long and still gets unsteady. She just wanted cuddles. I spoke with the staff to see if anyone from the transport could possibly assist me at the station into a cab. They went above and beyond. A member of staff actually approached me and carried the bags and unfolded pram, waited for my cab ( which parked a good walk away, ) and happily stayed chatting and walked the distance with all my stuff. There ARE a few good men, he is one of them and a credit to the place. So thanks to the true Irish gentleman- I try to do my best by people, but I'll definitely pay this forward too. The kindness of strangers leaves a lifelong, lasting impact- especially when you're alone and feeling a little overwhelmed. ❤ x

I came in yesterday around midday whilst waiting for my train and was served by Megan who was really friendly and helpful. I rarely leave reviews but she was so lovely, and also recommended two drinks which I really enjoyed. Overall a great bar. Will definitely be stopping here next time I have a delayed train!

Really friendly staff. Very clean and tidy. Quick service. Did wish there was more food to choose from as the menu is limited and quite basic but understandable why they don’t have more on offer. Prices are quite high but again understandable in a train station.

Honestly, the folks working here are the best. We spent the hour waiting for our train watching them run around trying to serve people as quickly as possible. Loads of smiles among them and the place is spotless. Particular thanks to Megan, Lynette, Maritza, Danny & Nitish who (on Halloween weekend) went above and beyond to make people feel welcomed. Someone please give them all a raise!
