   Something hasn’t been quite right the last few times we have been to China Palace (December 2025). On two occasions some of the dishes have smelled off, like a urinal. Checked food hygiene rating and latest assessment done Sept 2025 and has a score of 1/5. Would definitely avoid, at least for now. Shame really as we have used and recommended this place countless times over the years, and has previously been widely considered as one of the best Chinese takeaways in Bolton.

   Ordered box b what I ordered I didn’t get I got something completely different chicken that was burnt no curry sauce that I paid extra for and rang the guy he was so rude and was shouting at us do not go here they are rude

   Real shame the few items we got weren’t up to standards, we had ok ribs but they were far from ok, not sure what animal ribs that small came off but the bones were smaller than anything I could recognise and swimming in liquid. We also had spring rolls but they were so small! The chicken chow mein was also very wet but tasted mediocre. Genuinely disappointed and feel we wasted £30

   Been a customer for over 10 years on and off never had a problem food always consistent and flavourful. Had it last night and all was totally different from the food standards, quality and quantity. All the starters were different prawn toast in the past was nice thick piece's of prawn but now just generic poor quality ones. Ribs hardly any meat and missing seaweed from the starter banquet. Potion size on the soup is much smaller and even look/taste different. The salt and pepper chips was the best nice crispy and a good balance of spicy now just soggy and over spicy. Will not be going again after that and will not be recommending to anyone is anything will be telling them to avoid.

   Ordered a chicken chow mein Got home with it opened it up to only describe it as goo in gravy the chicken could only be described as chicken skin in a sauce no chicken and the noodles was like ramen noodles not boiled with no chunchy as death i did ring up and complain after 3 4 min argument they did offer to replace it but to be quite far been put off big time will not be ringing back

   Last night ordered a takeaway. 2 of our special fried rice was awful. None of the ingredients were chopped up. 1 whole fried egg on top along with 2 large thin pieces of unmarinated chicken with 1 small pork piece. It tasted disgusting. Whoever cooked it last night needs sacking. The vegetarian box was also unedible, all contents were totally stiff. We order from here once every 2 weeks and the ladt few months have been terrible. Totally gone down hill. Will never return again.

   Used to be great - really not any more. Always loved a takeaway from here but the sweet and sour chicken was tough and horrible and the chow mien not great. Only thing we enjoyed was the spring rolls.
