Best Chinese locally. Would 100% recommend. Made some requests when ordering and all were fulfilled. Will be going back
Update (July 25): Food has become worse, the chips regularly taste like they have been cooked in a tea pot, and for the 2nd time I have received a chicken breast that has obviously been recooked as it was chewy as hell, tasted awful, and was a really weird texture - like eating a 'old' bird. There weren't many other option locally for a good chippy, however, now that the Lucky Jade is under new management, and the few times I have been there are great, there is no need for me to visit Yuan's again. Fish is usually good with nice crispy batter, however the chips are awful, which being a chippy should be the one thing you get right. The chips used to be good, however they are always undercooked these days. Please spend a couple of minutes to cook them fully, rather than rushing them out because you are busy. Your customers would rather wait a little longer for a nice meal, rather than a poor tasting rushed one.
Beef tomato that was drowned in garlic… I’ve never had beef tomato with garlic, it was swimming in it. It was more garlic tomato. The chips tasted earthy and off every single one of them. Worst food I’ve ever had
Food was delivered very fast, so no complaints there. But........ both meals where literally annihilated with chopped garlic. I have never, ever, had a King Prawn pineapple swimming with Garlic And The Liver Dinner was vile, the gravy was NOT GRAVY, it was some kind of Chinese sauce concoction, again with chopped Garlic & a sort of Hoisin type flavour Shocking! I have been to Yuan's quite a few times, over the years, but never again. I'll have a Pot Noodle, before this place
First time ordering on just eat I ordered a large curry got a small disappointed... but the hot and sour soup is the best I've had in liverpool area 10/10
Collected order. Eat alot of chippy and this tops them in huyton and Prescot. Special fried rice was in a circular see through tray. With an almost poached style egg with a hard yolk. With big pieces of chicken and char sui. Nothing dry at all. Absolutely top notch
So....you look at their menu and decide on sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. I've had this dish on many occasions from various takeaaways and have to say Yuan's version of it has to be the worst I've ever experienced. A paper bag full of over battered chicken peices, not bite sized but tangerine size. A tub of what they present as sweet and sour sauce. Not and onion, pepper or pinapple in site and the fried rice I'm sure was boiled rice with a bit of soy for colouring. Very disapoiting to say the least. I wish I would have taken some pics of it to post here.
The worst take away meal ever, pork ribs = bacon ribs. Chicken and sweetcorn soup without chicken or sweetcorn? It was like a knorr stock cube with a yellow food colouring. 1 star for the chips the rest was rubbish.
HAD to offer up a review - - Usual order for me (Chicken Curry), pretty safe, or so I thought - absolutely, truly swimming in grease (pics provided) - couldn't eat it - wouldn't feed it to a dog - NEVER again - beyond disappointed
