Ordered a vegetarian burrito but instead got a beef one which I only realised when eating. Worst mistake you can make for a vegetarian. Would not recommend at all.
Popped into Selfridges hoping to buy a quick soup to take back to the office (it’s 1°C outside). I quickly by passed the soup section and found myself eyeing up the board at Conchita's. I ended up leaving with a chicken empanada and the beef tacos and my gosh, what an excellent decision. Javier, the owner, was a pleasure to chat with while the team prepared the tacos. He started Conchita’s to bring proper Mexican food to London, and he’s done a brilliant job of it. I devoured half the empanada while waiting it was that good, I simply couldn’t help myself. The beef tacos were delicious, warm and filling. Would recommend 100%. Absolutely fantastic. Thanks Javier and team
The chicken empanadas were absolutely delicious, little boxes full of flavour! A special mention to Aitana, who served us with genuine kindness and was incredibly helpful, making our experience even better. However, Selfridges should really rethink their seating arrangements for Conchita's. It was quite a nightmare to find a spot, and we even witnessed a customer having to argue just to sit in the area meant for Conchita's clients. This took away a bit from what was otherwise a fantastic food experience.
My first time trying Mexican food in London, and it was the perfect way to end my trip! I had the HALAL beef birria and empanadas — absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and satisfying. I even ordered HALAL chicken empanadas to take with me on the plane. Highly recommend for anyone looking for tasty HALAL and vegan Mexican options!
