   Feeling sadly let down by this garage who I’ve been using for a while now. Diagnosed that a new clutch was needed after my car was towed there. The price was expensive so I decided to ring around and found a better price with another local garage who then went to pick the car up. Receptionist quite rude when other mechanic went to collect. On inspection by the new garage it turns out the clutch is not faulty at all and the work was completed satisfactorily for a massive £1000 less than what Hadfield Motors were going to charge! I have spoken to the workshop manager but was told that he sticks by his original diagnosis and that “the clutch will go anyway in 4-6 weeks”. That’s all well and good and time will now tell BUT i should’ve either been given the option to pay for a new clutch now (with an explanation that it could go at anytime) or, preferably, only the work needed should’ve been quoted for. I’m not sure anyone wants to pay £1000 for a “what if”. Maybe I was a captive audience, who knows? However my business will now be going to the garage who fixed it and who I feel I can trust. Just be aware that you may be quoted for work that’s not needed here….. oh and I paid £42 for the privilege of an incorrect diagnostic!

   A very good local garage. Office staff very friendly and knowledgeable, clearly know the issues motorists have and can talk about them. Lead mechanics know their stuff and will explain what the problems and solutions, again easy to talk to. Costs? Much cheaper than main dealers but no garage is cheap anymore. However I would say it's reasonable value for money, which probably explains why they are always quite busy.

   For 12 years ( not covid times) we have had our Skoda ( at first quite new), then a very old motorhome ( over 20 years) then recently the Skoda, now 12 years old and more rental y a 5 year old motorhome, all motel and serviced at Hadfield Motors. We’ve driven thousands of miles through France, Spain and here at home. Impeccable servicing has lead to trouble free driving which is so good, especially abroad. Just back from 3,000 mile road trip and no issues. Rang from France to get car mot’d and they fitted me in within 2 days too. Brilliant service, lovely staff in reception ( and dog) and great mechanics. Many many thanks.

   Wonderful service from a great team. I had my timing belt replaced along with a new water pump. The price I was quoted was the price I paid and I have much more confidence in the car now. This is a great service centre with a real family run feel to it. Good, old fashioned honest service and no gimmicks or extras. Really nice to do business with these people.

   Used Hadfield motors for years, they always solve the problem and assess anything that may give you further issues so you can think about rectifying it. They go out of their way to accommodate you as best they can. I will certainly continue to use them.
