    I'm absolutely gutted to be writing this because Steve – you genuinely came across as someone I liked. I ended up seeing you so often through all this that we built a bit of a rapport. Sadly, that only happened because of the ongoing issues that came out of your garage. From paint damage and dents to three failed engine attempts, it was an incredibly frustrating experience. The engine jobs alone meant I didn’t see my van again for nine weeks. It cost me multiple recovery callouts, and although you sometimes had a courtesy car, for most of the time, I was left without transport. Time and time again, I was told it would be ready in a couple of days, only to be left hanging for a week or more. I lost a lot of work because of the delays and poor workmanship. What made things worse was the number of times I turned up to drop the van off for follow-up repairs — things that needed sorting because of issues caused by your work — and you simply weren’t there. Or you'd turn up hours later after having me travel to sit waiting. It was honestly shocking and added even more stress to the situation. I wasn’t going to leave a review, but even two years down the line we’re still uncovering signs of bodged work — parts that should’ve been properly replaced were just held together with silicone to get the van out the door and off your hands. My current mechanic keeps finding more rushed and careless work every time he looks at it. When I left the van with you, you'd keep hold of it for so long it felt like you were just trying to wear me down. In the end, I lost trust and had no choice but to go elsewhere. I only wish I’d done that from the start. I eventually took it to Ford, who quoted £14k to put everything right — a ridiculous figure, especially after the money I’d already spent with you. I didn’t go with Ford in the end because of the price, but I did ask for a full inspection, hence the quote. Since then, I’ve spent over £6k getting things sorted — wrong parts fitted, missing cables, missing parts, and patch jobs where proper repairs were needed. I did consider leaving a one-star review, but I know how much these ratings mean to small businesses. That said, I have to be honest. If a job’s beyond what you’re confident in doing, please don’t take it on. Maybe I was just unlucky — these things happen — but I wouldn’t recommend you, and I hope you can understand why. Since I last saw you, I’ve been diagnosed with brain cancer and had surgery. I am going through treatment while still trying to keep a business running. The damage caused by all this feels never-ending — and that’s what hurts the most. It’s now been two years, and I’m still finding problems from the work you did. Looking back, I wish I’d just paid Ford — it would’ve saved me a fortune and a lot of stress. I just hope no one else has to go through what I did. I genuinely have a list of faults and photos I can trace back. I hope you see my three-star review as fair — this isn’t just a rant. I truly wanted to believe you were a decent guy and that this was just one job that didn’t go to plan. But the sheer number of issues and the way they were handled made it clear that the standard of work just wasn’t there. Even with all that, I still couldn’t bring myself to leave a one-star review — and that should say something.

    Been coming here for years. As long as iv lived in Radcliffe, always helpful and does a great job every time. Its hard to find a mechanic you can trust but The Cat Clinic always put the customers needs over their own financial gain. I once needed a new battery and Ste said just come get it done and pay when you can afford it, maybe extenuating circumstances as I'd just had a baby, but, this is the kind of people who run the place. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
