   The young lass Charlotte on the desk was very pleasant and professional to the point she noticed that I didn't take advantage off the half price service offer when I booked online so she applied that discount when I collected the car. The bloke who serviced my car came and spoke to me to make me aware of a few issues he had found just incase I didn't know about them but was never pressured into having them do the jobs like at other Halfords autocentres they basically back you into a corner to try and get your custom. Halfords autocentre on wellington road south In Stockport is the only Halfords garage I will use after bad experience at another Halfords garage with staff giving me wrong information on fixing a problem to get my car through the MOT.

   Tried to charge my sister £683.43 for an exhaust. All it needed was a £15 seal from Nissan. Do not take your car here rip off merchants praying on people who don’t know about cars. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

   Thought we needed a new battery. The Halford guy came and tested our battery and alternor and told us they were fine and shouldn't replace it with a new one which would have been £220. All for free. What a pleasant change from others putting pressure on to buy something we didn't need. 10 out of 10 for them.

   Car needed an MOT and my usual place was closed so I was forced to book in at Halfords. Safe to say I won’t be going back. The car failed and the reason that was given was it needed a new ABP pump. I was told they don’t fix those but know someone round the corner that could help (convenient!). A replacement could’ve cost me up to £1000 plus labour so I got a second opinion 3 weeks later from another garage who discovered a completely rusted caliper was the issue, not the ABS pump which I’m told Halfords should’ve spotted. Replacement discs and pads fixed the issue and it passed at the new garage. Work cost less than £300 including the test. Shocking how Halfords missed this and god knows what I’d have paid for a new ABS pump. I won’t be seeing them again. Wasted £50 for the pleasure too. 1 star is kind.
