Terrible experience,I used to use this takeaway say once a month, the lady was always overly friendly. Wow what a different side I seen of her yesterday evening.I was on my way back from sainsburys, and decided to get some food. She had a face like thunder when she seen me,incredibly unfriendly I felt extremely uncomfortable. This is because I havnt use the shop in a long time. The reason being I found a fantastic chinesse takeaway Lind rd Sutton,Happy House very reasonable food is soo fresh and delicious. I made an excuse and left and will never use them again, what a nasty little woman she is.She deliberately made me feel uncomfortable.Further more I was soo shocked with the state of the shop its a scruffy mess, the stools are even unsteady for customers to sit on.The shop needs a renovation desperately. I only went there as it was late and I wanted to get home.Never Again!!!

We are strict vegan and enjoy the food there. My wife complains if I order elsewhere. You also have lovely people serving you.

I havenβt been to Chows since they changed ownership circa 2012 or before, I unfortunately cannot remember the exact year. Pleased to say, their quality is still good and still Cantonese Chinese ran! I ordered two dishes, Salt and Pepper Chicken and Tofu. For the Tofu, they used an entire cube for one portion making this decent for value however, it wasn't made crispy enough. Some places use batter or they could have fried the tofu at a higher temperature for a more crispy texture. On the flipside, they use the firmer grade tofu meaning that this has a higher protein content. Chicken, smoked chicken is smaller sized chicken (normally found in restaurants), they don't do the larger normal sized one we get in most takeaways unfortunately.. meat tasted a little old as well... maybe 2 days since it was prepared? Crispy at least as they follow the double deep fried anthology. Just a shame they used these βstripsβ instead of the larger pieces, meaning less meat more batter. Salt and pepper spice mix, was good overall, tasty, Chinese 5 spice was balanced however it was too saltyβ¦ I believe they were compensating for having βno MSGβ in the dish. I wasnβt impressed by the packaging and portion size. I had to spend twice as much to be able to get full in comparison to competitors. Despite all criticism, solid Chinese. Would visit again if my usual shops are closed.

Food was decent but absolutely traumatised, walked in and saw a naked duck hanging by a chain to βdryβ I will never look at a duck the same way again. Poor quackers!

The lady did not wash her hands from the till. As she took out chicken from the fridge one piece dropped on the floor. She looked back at me on the sly ,picked it up from the floor as if I wouldn't see and put it in the fryer along with the other pieces of chicken.

I've ordered only salt and pepper king prawns from here, at 2 different times. Review: - too much salt, ruins any taste - not many onions/spring onions/thai red chilli/garlic - the actual prawns inside are much smaller than what the heavy amount of batter makes them seem - too greasy Other restaurants nearby (for e.g. Sweet & Sour) are much better at balancing the flavours

What a Gem! I was recommended this place by a mate. They must be the friendliest Chinese takeaway in London. The kitchen is completely open so you can see your meal being cooked while you wait. Most importantly the food is excellent quality with generous portions. This is my new favourite Chinese takeaway. Many thanks to the Chow team.
