RIP. I liked it when id call ahead with my order and the lady would say, “ HELLO GOLDEN FOOOOOD” The special rice will always have a special place in my heart. Top 5 ribs of all time too Sad.
Says it’s open until 10pm and so we make an hour+ journey to Dalston only to see the owner in the building lights on and the shutters down. This isn’t how you run a business, utterly disappointed.
The worst Chinese I’ve ever had the food was tasteless and stale. The management and chefs have definitely changed as the food used to be nice but is now horrid, even the chicken balls I ordered were inedible, nearly took my tooth out trying to take a bite out of it.
These prices are still in 2008 I love to see it!! Good food, you can only go in there to purchase tho as they don’t deliver. Very filling and tasty, lots of food at a good price. This place is very nostalgic.
Up until last year, golden food is the only Chinese takeaway we would order from. We would happily pre-order and wait an hour for our food to be ready. But things have drastically taken a turn from the worse. We ordered food today for my Nans birthday, firstly I was told my food would be ready in 20mins. Went over 30mins later and it still wasn’t ready. Then once I got home with my food (I have never previously had to check my order before leaving the store) the order was wrong. Buy the time I took the food back, got it sorted and then got back home to eat the food was cold and didn’t even taste nice. Massive waste of £60 and I’m super upset for my nan not enjoying her birthday meal even if it was only a takeaway. Worst thing to ever happen was Cam leaving.
My fave Chinese place. I only really buy the Special Larry (beef and king prawns) fried rice.
Update: As of 10/03/23 the food is no longer the same, I think this place is now under new management, the lady at the till was overwhelmed and quite unorganised. Food definitely taste different which is a shame because when I started coming here I was actually happy and willing to travel from West London now there is just no point, everything has changed. Hope the original owners come back! Food is amazing and so tasteful. Portion size is also great! The only downfall is trying to get through as well as the waiting time, to be honest it’s worth the wait
Normally love the food, but the last few times I have ordered, the food has not tasted the same, so not sure if they have a new cook or what has changed .
Decent Chinese take away (cash only, no delivery, but you can make a phone pre order). Sweet and sour chicken is really good, according to my taste.
