This remains one of my absolute places for dim sum in the city, and for good reason: the food is simply outstanding. Every dish is executed with real skill—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and as close to top-tier Hong Kong standards as you’ll find in London. The riverside location and stylish décor are bonuses, and little touches like individual hand-sanitiser bottles on every table show they care about the details that matter.Yes, the staff aren’t going to win warmth awards—they’re efficient and professional rather than chatty or overly smiley—but that’s part of the authentic Cantonese dim-sum experience. You’re here for the food, not a friendship bracelet. If you genuinely love proper dim sum and want some of the most authentic, high-quality versions in London, this is a must-visit. Just don’t come expecting Michelin-level hand-holding. Come hungry, order generously, and enjoy some of the best baskets in town.

We came for the unlimited hot pot for a staff gather. The soup was yummy and the quality of the ingredient was also very good. It also include large amount of condiment. We also order some dim sum home. Kenny and the team was very attentive and prompt.

Royal China Canary Riverside hosted our wedding banquet. The staff did a wonderful job. They set up the whole restaurant with festive decor and created a wonderful atmosphere with great food. They set up a nice tea ceremony for us as well, and a nice champagne hour on their patio to start with. I highly recommend them for an event, and for great food any time. Thank you, Royal China!

The food are great ! The environment is clean and with good mood. Customer have an option to order tea , water or other soft drinks / beers. The charge of ordering tea / water counts on each seat on the table. Dim Sum is not available during the dinner time (evening). The restaurant locates just next to the pier. Around 7 - 10 minutes walk to the tube station of Elizabeth line / Jubilee line.

Royal China (Canary Riverside) is a solid choice for dim sum lovers, offering a wide variety that covers both classic and modern options. The food is tasty, with decent quality across most dishes, though not every item reaches the same standard. The riverside location adds a nice touch to the overall dining experience, especially on a sunny day. However, the service could be improved. The staff seemed a bit inattentive at times, which slightly took away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Still, it’s a good spot for a weekend lunch or casual gathering if you’re in the area.

Very delicious dim sum stuffed with good ingredients in generous portion. A good variety that includes not only traditional ones but also those with a twist. Service is just ok, nothing exceptional. Not too crowded on a Friday afternoon.

Lovely setting for a sunny Saturday walk around docklands. The dim sum is very good and worth the 40 minute wait as we missed the first sitting. Good choice of dishes and some a little different from the usual choices. You pay a little more per dish but the taste makes up for it. Would recommend.

Came here for dinner and dim sum lunch a few days later. Excellent traditional Hong Kong cuisine. Every dish tasted great! So far the best Cantonese style Chinese food in London. The ones in Chinatown don’t come close. Very happy to stumble upon this restaurant while visiting Canary Wharf.

Worst Chinese restaurant experience in 20 years. Accepted our custom and told to return the table within 45 minutes or they will pack our food.. how thoughtful! The portion is incredibly small, both starter and mains. Less than half of what you would get from China town. When asked why, Manager said we could’ve ordered more??? 魚香茄子Aubergine with mince meat.. came with tiny cheap shrimps and peppers. Refused to refund and took the food away. Asked for the bill and they had the audacity to include service charge!? Mind blown … straight up refused to pay and was greeted with a scoff … My goodness stop pretending to be a classy place when I wouldn’t feed your food to my pets!

On a late night in Canary Wharf, we decided to try the branch of Royal China here. Royal China usually never fails to disappoint whether at Baker Street, Dubai, Mumbai or New Delhi. And Canary Wharf was no exception. The food was fabulous and the staff are very efficient. Th food came soon after we ordered. And everything was very tasty. We are very happy with the consistency of all Royal China branches.
