I booked an appointment for laminated brows at the end of July. On arrival I was asked why I had not been for a patch test prior. I told Katy I had missed that on the email. I was told as I've had my brows tinted before it was fine, so I assumed it was a similar process. Unfortunately, I reacted to the chemical that was used (no warning of this), and spent the rest of the summer with a purple, bloated face. Every medical practitioner I have seen about the issue (and there have now been many), have questioned why I was not forced to have a patch test or at least told about the risks! It is really bad practise and anyone who has sensitive skin, please insist on a patch test even if the salon owner does not. I now know, it is a very strong perming solution being put onto your face. I did reach out, but was just told to seek medical advice which I did. Although clearly talented as the brows looked good for the 3 days before they all fell out, I do not feel my health and well being were not put before having to rearrange an apt. She had a duty of care to ensure I had a patch test before the service, or at least ask if I have a history of ezcema/sensitive skin. I am still struggling with the reaction months later and have not received any contact to even check on my welfare. Months later... brows have grown back mostly but still struggling with purple swelled skin around brow and cheek.
I really enjoyed my first treatment with Katie. She gave me excellent advice and was so lovely and welcoming. My skin has been glowing for days. Looking forward to my next visit!
I came to Katie 6 months prior to getting married to have a consultation & skin analysis and I proceeded to see Katie throughout the build up to my wedding day.
